Question about Panasonic Palmcorder PV-DV102 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I have had a Panasonic model PV-DV102D mini DV palmcorder for the past 5.5 years. It has worked well until recently. The red power light keeps flashing every time I turn it on and I'm unable to do any filming of my new baby! I have charged the battery and backup battery several times and have also tried using the AC adaptor and I still have the same problem. Do I need to send it in for repair, and will the repair cost more than replacing it? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The problem here is condensation inside the camera. I leave the camera turned off, remove the cassette tape and then point a hair drier on warm or low heat and slow speed right into the innards of the camera through the open cassette tape door. I run the hair dryer for 5 minutes and then replace the cassette. If the camera still dosen't work just wait for another 5 or 10 minutes and then it will work OK.

I spoke with Panasonic Service and they want me to take it to a repare place to get it fixed. They could not tell me why it was flashing except it was trying to communicate with me to tell me something was wrong. DUH ... Anyone have any ideas? I suspect it being an internal battery died or something simple that will cost more $ than a new camera.
