Question about HP LaserJet 3055 All-In-One Printer

No Print Cartridge

I keep receiving an error message telling me "No Print Cartridge" even though a cartridge is installed. I even put a brand new cartridge in.

    I have the same issue - 1 month old 3055 with 1 month old printer cartridge, barely used. Was working correctly until I scanned a document. I can't for anything decipher what this solution message means:



    "if this message is present with both old n new catridge,u better check the top cover not properly seated or there is a lever on the right side which is being pulled up by the top cover ,pls check ,it is being properly pulled up by top cover,after pulling up the top cover properly,put the toner catridge ,see its properly seated (horizontally parellen)n check the printer,
    do revert
    thnx"



    huh? I have reseated the printer cartridge several times, it is correctly installed. I can see where this might have something to do with the scanner tray, but I have checked every inch and nothing appears out of place, loose, or incorrectly seated.

    put in new cartridge, unplugged and plugged back in

Same problem here.

I couldn't find the lever referred to above.

I did notice the cartridge had some looseness in that you could push it up and down. So I --

1. Unplugged the unit completely.

2. Removed the cartridge.

3. Re-installed same cartridge.

4. Pushed or lifted the bottom edge in case there was some sensor that the front upper edge is supposed to make contact with.

5. Put the electrical plug back in.

6. PRINTING SUCCESS!!

I have a lexmark x1240 and just installed a new cartridge. I keep getting an error message that says " print cartridge missing" install print cartridge even though both cartridges are in the printer.


If you insert the old cartridge, does it recognize it? If it does, then it's a problem with the new cartridge. Try to check if you already have taken out the protective tapes out of the cartridge.

If it still doesn't recognize the old cartridge, then it's a problem with the printer.

were they 'refilled' cartridges ? Lexmarks are sensitive to that...they have a chip in their tanks that you have to change/reset....you can't just refill them with ink.

Installed a new Lexmark ink cart and got an incorrect message


take out the cartridge , turn off your printer and take out all the cables behind your printer and wait for 5 minutes and put everything back in.. if the same error shows.. im sorry but your printer needs to be replaced.

Have put in a new colour cartridge but the note on the printer comes up error 50C


Cartridge Error 50C
Your print cartridge has shorted.
  1. Power off your All-in-One and unplug it.
  2. Plug in your All-in-One again and turn it on.
  3. Uninstall and then reinstall your cartridges.
  4. If this does not resolve the issue, try the troubleshooting steps for the other cartridge errors below.
Error: Black Cartridge Missing
The black cartridge is not installed. (Install cartridge PN 82)

Error: Color Cartridge Missing
The color cartridge is not installed (Install cartridge PN 83)


Cartridge Error
Complete the following instructions:
  1. Power off your All-in-One.
  2. Use both hands to lift up the scanner unit until the scanner support holds it open.
  3. Turn the All-in-One on. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.
  4. Remove the color print cartridge.
  5. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  6. If the error message reappears, replace the black print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
    If it does not repeat steps 1-3 and then go to step 7.
  7. Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black print cartridge.
  8. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  9. If the error message occurs again, replace the color cartridge.
  10. If an error message reappears, repeat steps 1-3 and reinstall both print cartridges.
  11. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  12. If you receive the error message again, replace both cartridges.

Is that an error code "Cartridge Error 50C" ? If so, see below....

Dell A960 cartridge problem


Does the black cartridge print? If not did you take the tape off of it? Error 50 is a generalized error reading relating to a number of cartridge problems. If the color cartridge is empty, it may be theproblem although I have not found this to be true on Dell printers. If you remove the color cartridge and reinstall it the reading will indicate its full (even though it isn't. This may solve the problem.

I cannot offer a solution. However, I can attest to the EXACT same problem word-for-word. Can someone please suggest a solution?
