Question about Acer AL1717 17" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Acer Monitor My acer is not a 17" but a 20" acer. I have Microsoft Media. When I play the TV it will play for about 2 minutes and then start stopping and starting. If you change channels it will play about 2 minutes and then start the same thing. Any ideas what the problem is. I have a Gateway GM5088 Athlon 64 X2 4600+, Avidia GeForce 6100, 2048DDR, Duel Channel, 400gb. Thank you for any help. Bro. Reginald Gabel

When i turn my acer emachine E725 2520 on the power button comes on but display doesn't whats the problem?

Hi percy goodface
Connect your laptop to a different monitor and see if the computer is working.
If it is then your screen is faulty...needs to be replaced.
If your computer is not working then try these tips.
How to reinstall the Operating system on your computer

Select models, with Microsoft Windows, have the ability to have the Operating System reinstalled from a hidden partition built into the computer.
Note: During the process, all data stored on your computer will be overwritten. This means all your files, such as email and photos, will be erased. Therefore, we recommend making a backup of all personal data before starting the recovery process.
To start the system recovery:
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
3.If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
4.After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media, you may purchase the set online from the Acer Recovery Media Order Form..
Note: If your computer does not have an internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be required in order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media.
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
3.Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.
4.Close the CD-ROM tray.
5.Refer to on screen instructions to select either CDROM or USB CDROM.
6.The computer will boot from the Acer Recovery Media
7.When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.

Note: If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.

8. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
Note: if your computer is unable to run the Acer Recovery process, or errors occur during recovery, please contact Acer support.
Please take time to rate me.

Videos Dosent work

You don't need Video drivers to play your media files, you need codec plug-ins to play your media formats with your installed media players.

Codec download site: http://www.free-codecs.com/

Alternatively you can install the MpcStar player from : www.mpcstar.com/ which plays most of the media formats.

You can restore your system to the earlier healthy state by following these steps :

1. Goto Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore.

2. System Restore window will appear. Click on Next.

3. A list of all available Restore Points will be displayed.

4. Select any Restore Point of your choice, and click Next.

5. Now, confirm the Restore operation by clicking on Restore / OK / Finish.

6. The System Restore process will take about 15-30 minutes.

7. Don't try to cancel or stop the process by pressing any key!

8. Don't turn off the system till the restore is done!

9. When the System Restore will be completed, a restore successful message will appear!

My Acer X263W will power off during the reboot of my PC. I cannot power it back on unless I switch off both my pc and monitor for at least 2 minute. How can I make my X263w power on again without turn off...

Your PC monitor may be a CVT type. Anythingwill switch off when a monitor powers on. Its initial kick off current is very heavy and thus sucks in all the current from neighboring devices (your Acer X263W included) and renders them powerless. The only way out is to put the PC with its monitor and the Acer on different power sources (sockets) so that they do not interfere with each other's power requirements.
