Acer AL1711 17" LCD Monitor goes blank without warning
My monitor has repeatedly gone blank and the on/off light goes out. I can get no response from it at all. The first time it happened was when I'd switched on my PC first thing on a morning and typed in the password and after about a minute the monitor went blank. The on/off light button doesn't do anything. I switched everything off and rebooted and it came on and was okay for the rest of the day. That was yesterday. Today it has gone off about 4 times already. I have to turn everything off at the mains and wait about 10 minutes and when I reboot it comes on again.

If you turn the monitor off then about 1020 sec turn it back on and have
a picture for five sec again it sound like the power supply in the
monitor. but if that did not solve the problem, the
picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few
seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the
board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.
advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your monitor to
solve the problem of the blank screen.
There are two common reasons for that problem.
1) Your video card on your pc may be having issues.
2) Your monitor is not working properly
Here is a test to isolate the problem to the monitor. Plug it into another pc or laptop VGA or DVI slot and try to power it on again. If it works then you know for sure it's your video card giving trouble. Either gone bad or needs the drivers to be updated/uninstalled and reinstalled.
If it doesn't work then you're looking at some monitor repair or potentially a new one. However since you said you saw the Acer logo, it's a positive sign it's not really your monitor as it would not work all together if it had an issue.
Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa.com
When laptop on booting immediately press del. And the screen will run normally. But if the screen is still white, force to press power button soon. And it will shutting down. After shutting down, repeat this action. It will work.
Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.
We had the same problem with the 17" we bought in Aug. Sent it back for repair. Acer sent it back without fixing the problem. Started doing it again in Nov. This time I called a supervisor and they sent me a new monitor. Well yesterday it started doing the same thing. You can fix it temp buy unplugging it and holding down the on-off switch for 30 seconds. Please let me know if you have a better fix.
You may be encountering a hardware fault that numerous people appear to be having (myself included).
Get a bright torch and point it at the screen once it's 'gone blank'. Look for any text / images that you'd expect to be displayed.
You will normally see a faint display which shows that the problem is just with the backlights. Unfortunately the inverters for these are built into the power supply (Delta Electronics, model no. ADP-40AF) so you will more than likely need to replace this. It's probably easier, simpler and cheaper to buy a replacement (non-Acer) monitor!
