there are alot of kind of cd brand, like, maxwell. princo, ech.... use the common cds or dvd brand. may this cause of cd only. not good quality..otherwise chech your cd room drive. maybe the lins can recognise try to change another cd or dvd room for testing only.. befor you buy or changing totally..
Sometimes the driver that is used to burn CD's gets corrupted, you should try removing and re-installing roxio. The only other possibility is a bad CD burner drive, but these are dirt cheap to replace these days, you should easily be able to find one under 40$.
First off, for your information your Roxio is OLD, they now have Roxio 9.
But that will not solve your problem. Can you open the CD and copy and paste anything? Or is the CD "Read Only"? If read only, it is because when you "Finalized" the CD you optioned the "Write Protect" making writing to the disk impossible. This protects the disk from erasure too.
You will need to use another disk.
Otherwise you can just use the same method you used before to write to the disk, or Copy and Paste, or Drag and Drop.
The Write Protect is specific to the program you are running. However, Roxio 7 and 9 program I have used ask, "Do you want to be able to write to this disk again?" or words to that effect. All you need to do is just put a check in the box (or not, if you want to write to disk again). This happens when you are ready to remove the CD or DVD from the drive. Then the program runs a "Finalizing" program before the disk automatically ejects.
