I have a Toshiba Satellite A200, It suddenly shut-off when on power-supply. When I remove power-supply it works well until battery lasts. Right now it even wont boot when power-supply is connected and battery is inside the laptop.
Apart from laptop tripping on A/c or power-supply when it runs on battery and OS is loaded it trips there as well.
Has anyone faced this issue ? I reached out to Service center and they advised me to replace whole motherboard which costs $$$.
Please advise is there's a possible solution to this issue.

you have to open the memory cover and remove the two RAM s, after that remove a black or whit plastic film depending on your model, you will loacte for B500 marqued ( XXX ) or J1 you have at least short the two point with a flat screwdriver and put the upper memory and power on the laptop will holding the screew driver till you see the toshiba screen, if it doen't work just try again. it works 100%
The problem is probably not in the motherboard itself, but may be internal to the laptop. From what you've described the problem is either in the AC Adapter itself or in the power supply inside the laptop (the area where you plug the AC adapter into the computer. The first thing to try is another AC adapter if you can get a hold of one or purchase one if need be as it's the most likely source of the problem. More than likely it's providing enough power for the system to recognize it's attached and draw power from it, but there is likely a short inside it or the cords keep the power from being constant. If you do not have a full adapter to test with, you can replace the end that plugs into the wall with and universal plug - something you can buy at major retail stores. The adapters take a lot of wear and tear and can be damaged from all the stuff we put them through.
The problem is not with the power supply or the power adapter. The problem is the hard drive of the computer itself. The hard drive could be corrupted and needs a reformat.
You have to reformat your hard drive as soon as possible so that you could still save it. The common cause of of corruption is virus.
