Question about Sub-Zero 690 Side by Side Refrigerator
I clean the condensor every few months. Now I have a message that flashes "vacuum condensor" always even when the condensor is spotless. I there something else I need to clean inside? I have had the unit for 7 years and it is flawless.
If the light keeps coming back on and temps are rising in the refer section, then you most likely have an evaporator leak. Check to see if you see either a moist spot or ice on the back wall on the left side of the back wall of the refer. If you do, it's definetly a leak. Call a authorized Servicer.

One more thing to look at. There is a water drain tube that takes condensation from the inside of the refrigerator and transports it to a collection pan under the until. Subzero used a "covered coil" type tube for this. If any food particals become hung up on one of the coils in the tube water will back up and cause ice to form on the evaporator. The system is dumb and will tell you to vacuum the condensor under this condition as well. I replaced the Subzero OEM tubing with a hunk of rubber fuel line and never had ths problem again.

I am having the same problems as Peter Martin. No "bell" to press. Any other ideas? Food is going bad quickly

Bell button only on newer 695 model, not on 690 predecessor.

You need to call an authorized servicers. Its been my experience in that particular situation there is a leak in the evaporator which is still covered under a 12 year part warranty.

There are 7 buttons on the door -- all are labeled and none are "Bell" looking. Is the "Bell" button above the fridge? Thanks

You need to reset the controller open the door and press and hold the "Bell" looking symbol for 15secs then release it should go away let me know if that worked
