Question about Acer Aspire 5630 Notebook

Acer laptop display

Hi,
For some reason my laptop display is begining to smudge on the screen. I am having a blueshodow effect on texts in any application. Also on a black background there are red scribly lines that keep coming and going. I thought is was the graphics driver that was corrupted but i have uninstalled it and installed it again and there is no change. I plugged it to an external monitor and it looks fine. What could be the problem with my display. s it just going off or is ther anything i can do to it?

Man,, im not really an expert but based on my experience,, lcd monitor problems are quite serious.. if the problem was caused by heat or improper handling,, it is usually permanent.. if your notebook has a warranty,, go to a service center..

and also check on the connections on the lcd.. maybe there are some some loose connections on the mainboard.. have it checked by an expert technician.. if it is about a year old go to the service center and avail your warranty if you have one..

How to turn microphone on

Acer laptops feature on-board microphones for sound recording purposes within Windows.
Since an internal microphone can be a very handy tool for communication and speech-to text capabilities, working without a functional mic can severely hinder work flow for many users.
If you do not have any prior knowledge of how to repair a non-functional microphone within Windows, you may feel the need to send off your Acer laptop for repair.
There is no need, because even the most novice Acer user can do it.

Go to "Start," "Control Panel," then double-click on "Add/remove Programs."
Click on the "Windows Setup" tab, "Multimedia," then select "Details."

Choose "Sound Recorder" from that screen, then click "OK."
The Sound Recorder application will begin to run. Step 4 will begin the microphone test.

Click "Record," which is the circle located on the right side of the user interface.
If you hardware device is functional, you should see the recording display begin to move.

Press "Stop," "Rewind," then "Play" to verify the audio that has been recorded.
If you are able to hear what the microphone picked up, but are having trouble hearing the microphone's input within other software, refer to the software's manual about proper configuration of the device.
If you were unable to record with your Acer microphone in Sound Recorder, continue to next Step.

Scroll your mouse over to the bottom-right corner of your computer screen and then double-click on the small speaker icon.
Slide the microphone volume slider all the way to the top and make sure that there hasn't been a mute check-box selected.
If you are still experiencing error while recording with your Acer laptop's built-in microphone, you most likely have faulty hardware that needs to be replaced by Acer directly.

This is an issue with all windows based computers. It is quite normal. you have 2 options: Get a desktop with a flatscreen lcd monitor or buy a mac. Mac laptops have the crispest clearest screen I have seen so far on any laptop.

What I wanted you to clarify was the message that you noted as "something to the effect of 'Beginning of physical damage'", but you only saw it the one time I see on rereading the post, so never mind.

Have you tried doing a factory restore using the recovery media? Try pressing Alt + F10 on booting to get to eRecovery Management.

Check the VGA plug and lead between the monitor and computer.

Does it get worse or better while you move the lead around?
