When I plug the adaptor and connect the router, there are no lights in the router which blinks. Is it the poer adaptor which is the problem? If so where can we buy a replacement adaptor for our router? Estimated cost of power adaptor for D1-524. Thanks Ismael Ramirez

Re: D1-524 without power

This unit use an adapter rated at DC 5V 2.0A
the connector is the issue as long as it matches the above specs and the connector will fit.
take the dc adapter to any radio shack and have it tested.

First, unplug everything. This means, remove all your equipment from any power connection. Many people think that just turning a piece of equipment off and on will solve the problem. Actually as long as the equipment is plugged in, there is power to the circuits this prevents a complete reset.
Now, after maybe 30 seconds, plug in the modem and the router and then turn on your computer (I'm assuming there is at least one computer wired to the router). If the lights keep on blinking, push the reset button in the back of the router to try to reset it.
If these two things don't work, you can assume the router has been damaged, possibly by a power surge and must be replaced.

Are the lights on the router stay on or blinking ?

The power light should stay solid as long as the router is plugged in. The WAN light and LAN lights are solid when you are connected, and the connection is idle. The lights blink when traffic is present. The lights are off when there is no connection.

just as a guess try unplugging power to both modem and router, then plug only modem in first until connection light stops blinking and goes solid. then plug in router.

WRT610n router power led light blinks and i cant

If the power light is blinking on the router , then it might not be working properly.
You will need to press the reset button on the back side of the router for 30 seconds. release it. unplug the power cable. plug it back in. wait for a minute and check if the power light is solid.
If not then try to reset the router again.
do the same thing and check if the power light is solid.

If the power light is solid then you will need to set up the router again.
If the power light is still blinking, then connect the computer to the router and check the IP address on the computer. If the IP address is then try to open the set up page of the router and check the settings of the router.

Router suddenly dropped connection. Have been using this same router without issue for about 8 years now (Linksys BEFSR41 router). When I tried resetting the router and plugged the power back in, the power...

If the power light keeps blinking it means that the router has reached its end point or else you have short circuited the board, or the router is reached up to the maximum whereby it has totally failed. The best would be to replace that router now or try to use a software named tftp to get into the router interface if it is possible then upgrade the firmware/ You can get tftp by searching in google.

Wireless router not connecting

Be sure that your Modem plugs into the WAN port on the router.

1. Unplug your cable/dsl modem power
2. Unplug your Router power
3. Plug in your modem power ... wait for it to come completely up.
4. Plug in your WRT54G Router and wait for it to come up.

Press the reset button on the back of the router for 45 seconds while it is powered on. This will do a factory reset. Wait for it to come up. Then unplug it. Wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. Let it come all the way up.

Plug a PC into one of the switch ports on the router.
Now do an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /refresh in the command prompt of your PC to get an IP address from your Router.

Now you should be able to ping and you should be able to get into the the configuration utility by putting in a browser. The username should be blank and the password will most likely be admin (all lower case).

Be sure to lock down your wireless SSID so neighbors and people passing by are unable to connect to your access point and do bad things on your network.

2wire 1800hg wireless gateway/router not functioning...

Your power adaptor might be faulty.  Yes, you can measure to have 6 volts.  But due to faulty electronic component in the power adaptor, the 6 volts will be dropped to a very low level due to "loading effect"  when you connect to the router.
I had the same problem but could not find the original power adaptor.  I replaced it with a 3rd party power adaptor.  You must ensure that the 3rd party power adaptor can provide 6V output with minimum 2000mA (2 amperes) and correct connector size.

Ms700 router

Your laptop must be plugged into port 4, correct? Try this (assuming Windows XP): Click Start, then Run. In the box type CMD and click OK. In the black window that comes up type (without the quotes) "IPCONFIG /RELEASE" . Wait for the prompt to come back up then type "IPCONFIG /RENEW". Wait a few seconds. Type "EXIT". Try your Internet again.

Hope this helps!
