i have that same problem too, except it wont really let me into the music on the mp3 player unless i press loads of random buttons. mine says Log Val = 0x100008018.. does anyone know what that means or how it can be fixed? oh and it wont register on my computer as a usb thing.

my problem with my yp-u3 mp3 player is that when i turn it on it comes
up with Log Val= 0x100008018 (what does that mean?), it also is VERY
difficult to get in to listen to the music. It does not register on my
computer as a usb port thing, so it wont charge (i think) and i cannot
put any new music on there!

I have the same problem...I have yp U3 too...Plesase Help!!!!

  • Anonymous Jun 04, 2008

I have the same problem - After turning on the player, it freezes with "log val = 010008018". I can turn it on if I hold onto the "USER/Record" button.

However, my MP3 player can't sync with other hardware - the hardware searches for files on the player, and the player turns on and freezes, and the hardware can't find any files.

Does anyone know if you can hard-reset the MP3 player back to factory preset?

If your mp3 (a samsung yp-u3 mp3) says log val=0x10008018 or something, click and hold the record button and once it begins to record, press the back arrow/button (symbol in the top right corner). your mp3 should work (play music and such) now. to fix your mp3 and get rid of that log val message, you need to go to settings, then system, then format. format your mp3. unfortunately this will delete all your songs and files on the mp3, but the mp3 player should be fixed and the log val message wont appear anymore.

hope this helped....

Sir! i have samsung YP-U2 ipod *** pendrive. I have just formate this. now no song are playing in it. What can i do Plese tell me!!!!

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/search/supportSearchModelResult.do?menu=SP01&searchWord=YpU2&searchInputBox=Yp-U2&find_button=
Go to this site ...select the exact model of your YP-U2 ...cause there are about 3 different series..and when you know for sure your model ...select it from the tab ...Than select firmware ..and download the firmware software ..connect the device by the cable ..and reinstall the firmware into the unit..
This should bring it back if you formatted it from the computer and delete the firmware ..
If the firmware is not deleted...that just reconnect it to the computer and look for it into My computer folder...You should see it like a removable device ...open the folder and copy into it files with music (mp3 files) ...after that will have the music in it again ..

Lost software for the Mp3 player model number YP-U3J ZB/XEU

How to get music onto your USB MP3 player without software. 28822404.jpg
One of the typical problems people run into with MP3 players is that they lose the software that came with the player and can't figure out how to get music on or off the player. So here's a quick how to. This will work with most brands of MP3 players, or even USB flash drives.

First you need to plug it in to the USB port, if you are running anything newer than windows 98 you won't need a driver. Double click on my computer and it shows up as a removable disc(usually drive letter f:), double click this drive to open it as folder. This folder will show you all directory's and files on your player, here you can delete any songs on your player by finding the file and deleteing it. From here you can also put your music onto the player by copying and pasting your music files from your hard drive. If you are not sure where your music is located you can run a search by clicking START>SEARCH>FOR FILES OR FOLDERS (if you are running XP click pictures music or video, check music then click search, each file will have it's location in small print below it's name, or you can right click each song and hit copy, then go back to f: drive and right click and hit paste, you can copy more than one). Hope this helps. http://www.pchelpforanyone.blogspot.com/
