Go to your set program access and default and go to change or remove programme and search for screen saver named Photo_023 and remove it.

               if it is not removed then format your c:drive only.

BOOT.INI deleted. How to re-create this file?

Hi,
That's not a virus. Boot.ini is a default file needed for Windows OS to boot.
Fortunately, you can recreate the boot.ini files

This is a sample of the above Boot.ini file with a previous installation of Windows 2000 on a separate partition. [boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

Simple way to add operating system on a separate partition:
At the command prompt, type: bootcfg /copy /d Operating System Description /ID# Where Operating System Description is a text description (e.g. Windows XP Home Edition), and where # specifies the boot entry ID in the operating systems section of the BOOT.INI file from which the copy has to be made.

Missing photo files

use asoftech photo recovery program to scan your usb and then recover your files.
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/

This software scans all storage space on usb and then join pieces together to recover photos. So even virus affected your file table, and put virus to boot sector, the program can still be used to recover your photos.

I have a blue screen saver cant get rid of it

firstly download a good anti virus and spyware programme for example AVG 8 Free.
Antivirus 2008 needs to be removed in safe mode (press F8 on start up) and select start windows in safe mode, choose windows XP, then choose the administrator account and the run the anti virus then restart your pc

Windows xp installer problem

Jack,

Do you know what it's trying to install? The status bar at the top of the browser should be prompting you with the name of the package.

Are you sure it's the browser and not windows trying to install something? Run Windows update and be sure everything is current. You may have to run & reboot a few times before your machine is up to date.

Well if anyone is interested and for general knowledge these are the 3entries that were killing the Desktop and Screen Saver tabs in XP. Hupigon13 seems to be at the root of it all.
