Question about Philips Magnavox 9P6034C 60" Rear Projection Television
After the set was on for a few seconds the screen would go small, the sound would still be there. Now there is no sound nor picture now. Please help

If you are familiar with electronics and how to repair it, look at the circuit from the bottom to see any discoloration or burn close to diodes. Most likely D2539 had gone out if there was surge protector. If you know a way to test the flyby or transformer, I would start with diode first and gradually test others.

There is alot of things that would cause this -shorted hori out put leaky or bad capacitor,you are looking at repair cost anywhere from 250.00 and up.also this set is famous for bad convergence broad & weak tubes!

I had the exact same problem with my Magnavox TV. The screen would shrink then expand. After thrity minutes it would correct itself. Then one day it just broke - no sound and no video. I searched these forums but did not find clear instructions on how to fix it. I gave up and called in a repair tech. He fixed my TV in less than 30 minutes.
