If you are getting an error during installation its not good :(

Its prob either yor ram or hard drive faulty. Download memtest and test ram 1st as thats the most likely cause. Check that optimised defaults are loaded in bios also.

No sounds are played on my PC after reformating and installing Windows XP Version 2002 - Servie Pack 3. I get a an error code as "0xC00D11BA". Kindly assist.

I understand your problem.

It is an error code normally due to a corruption of a file that links the audio feature of Windows to play your sound device.

I have provided a link for you to copy and paste into your web browser to go to a site that has a program for you to down load and install. Download and run the program, then click scan, then click fix problems and after scan, restart your computer. Should be good to go with your audio..

How to reformat

hi you should be able to reformat as part of a fresh windows installation.when you run your disc after the initial checks /and window file installation you are given a opportunity to choose a partition/usually you will select ;c;/you are then given an opportunity to delete the old window(reformat).choose the long reformat as quick is only used for new hard drives .when after will reboot .if your not familiar with installing a new window be aware when windows reboot to start instalation .dont touch any of the keys on your keyboard .just let it reboot .hope this helps.

Insert XP CD into drive, reboot pc pressing F1 button.. This takes you into BIOS, change your primary boot device to CDrom, save changes and reboot. Select boot from CD once this appears and wait for files to be installed. Select the part of the hard drive you wish to use for your operating system (usually the largest) and select partition this drive. Delete any previous os, and reformat hard drive. (Be aware this removes everything saved on your hard drive, so always back up first) Re boot afterwards and reinstall operating system.
Hope this helps
