Re: my tv want come on;

If your set is rear projection set you have a bad flyback transfromer or high voltage trippler is bad .

52 inch big screen sony tv if turn off will only flash 10 and no pic, but will come on after being off for awhile.

sounds like the flyback transformer needs to be resoldered. Often it will develope cracks around its pins. The flyback is located on the Far left side when looking in the rear. Its a large transformer with the large red wire coming out of it.

We just bought a used rca big tv it was moved around a little bit. The bottom six inches are totally black. it is like the rear projection has shifted is there any way i can fix it myself thank you

You can take the TV apart and adjust it. There should be some screws which will allow you to remove the top and then slide the plastic screen out so you can see inside. But if you don't know what you are doing, I'd suggest letting a pro do this.

Difficul to turn on

If it is making a loud poping, there is a high voltage leak probably and most likely at the high voltage transformer which is the 3 inch square white device with the large red wire coming out of it. With someone turning on the set on someone looking in the back with the back off you will see the arc of high voltage. Also look up under back in further where the tubes are (three) and look for the arc. But is most likely on the transformer. Common problem is the transformer and must be changed by trained person.
