Viking VESO 530SS Oven. Self clean light flashing.

Question edited for clarity.

The whole idea of Self Clean feature is to keep the makers into steady sales of spare parts. The components can only tolerate those temperatures for a number of cycles before elements, door locks and control boards start failing. Consumers don't realize the heat involved!

between 800°F and 900°F Self-cleaning ovens bring the heat so you don't have to spend hours scrubbing. Traditional self-cleaning cycles heat the oven between 800°F and 900°F, helping turn soil and spills to a powdery ash you can then wipe away. They utilize only heat-no chemicals-and are built to withstand high temperatures. (except they aren't)
Either the door lock has failed or the control board has failed.

If there is power to the unit (lights turn on) I would check the fuses and switches especially the one for door lock mechanism if you noticed a glitch. But a lot of times if you experiences problems after running a self-cleaning function, including locked door issue, the solution could be as simple as resetting a switch and no actual replacement parts needed. It all depends. If you are in Los Angeles, we could send a Viking repairman the same day you call us. : Viking Appliance Repair

How do I stop the door lock from flashing on my self cleaning oven

Hello Brian Pelletier, thanks for your inquiry!

I understand that you are having issues with your door not locking upon using the self-clean feature. It sounds like a possible issue with your EOC (Electronic Oven Control) or dock latch assembly. I would suggest unplugging your range if possible or flipping you breaker for ten minutes to perform reset. If the light continues to flash you may want to seek assistance from a professional for proper diagnosis and repair. -Matt

Does not go into self clean only beeps

here is a link for your owners manual click here

To set Self-Clean:
1. Close the oven door.
2. Press the appropriate Clean pad.
• CLEAN flashes.
• SET and UPPER or LOWER flash in the display.
3. Press the Autoset pad.
• “MEd” (Medium Soil, 3 hours) is displayed.
4. Press the Autoset pad to scroll through the self-cleaning
settings.
“HVy” (Heavy Soil, 4 hours)
“MEd” (Medium soil, 3 hours)
“LITE” ( Light Soil, 2 hours)
Choosing the soil level of the oven automatically programs
the self-cleaning time.
5. After four seconds, the oven will start cleaning.
• If the door is not closed, beeps will sound and ‘door’ will
display. If the door is not closed within 30 seconds, the
self-cleaning operation will be canceled and the display
will return to the time of day.
• CLEAN will appear in the display.
• LOCK will flash in the display. Once the door locks,
LOCK will remain steady.
• The cleaning time will start counting down in the
display.
