  • trucker70 Jan 27, 2008

  • trucker70 Jan 27, 2008

  • trucker70 Jan 27, 2008

How do i pull the board? Just pull straight up or do i have to unsolder it?

  • trucker70 Jan 27, 2008

I don't have any capacitors. how much is a pip board? and how do i remove it?

  • trucker70 Jan 28, 2008

Okbut how much do PIP boards usually cost? And i am so sorry to be bugging you so much.

  • trucker70 Jan 28, 2008

So i hook up the capacitors to the pip board itself or do i hook them up to where the pip board connects in the tv?

  • trucker70 Jan 28, 2008

Can my tv work without the pip board at all? The last tech i talked to said i could bypass the pip board totally and since i dont ever use pip i figured that would be ok. I just need to know how to do it. If anyone can give me directions on how to do it i would appreciate it very much.

You might have a bad PIP board, When you say NO picture. Is it totally blacked out or blacked out with "blue snow". The PIP has been alot of problems in this chassis and you will experience what your describing. Capacitors are the root of the PIP boards failure. Let me know if I can assist you further.

No i wasnt. am still looking thatsa hard model to find info on. It s simallar to the VZ2 from 1994 But VZ2 doesnt cover that model. Do you have a PIP board in that chassis? If so it should be on the left board with the cluster of boards standing upright. The smallest board. If you do pull tht board and give me the numbes off that.

Here is a trick to bypass that module to see if your problem lies in that module cause both horizontal and vertical circuits pass through that module. Do you have (2) 4.7uf @ 50 volt capacitors on hand. Take the PIP board out. Those numbers you gave were the PIP. And on the connector where the module plugs in Jump pins7 to 9 with 1 capacitor +lead in 7 -lead in 9 take the other capacitor and jump pins 5 to 11 + lead on 5. - negative lead on 11. Solder a small piece of wire so the leads dont touch as the pass each other. Just push the wires from the caps into the connector. No need to solder then try to power up your set. Let me know what happens.

The modle clips in to plastic sockets. There is two sockets and they each have a plastic retaining lock. Just pry the little clip away from the clip and pull the module up. I will check on the availability of the module for you. You may want to try the bypass just to make sure you need the module radio shack has the capacitors for about 1.00 each.

depends on the availability between 150 and 300

Thats how you bypass with the two capacitors they plug directly into the socket that you took the pip module out. Its the clip with eleven pin sockets.

Cleaning Mitsubishi VS-50607

CLEANING THE " LENS" MIGHT BE POSSIBLE IF YOU HAVE A LITTLLE SKILL,,UNPLUG THE TV FROM THE WALL OUTLET ,,,,LET ME REPEAT THAT --UNPLUG THE TV FROM THE ELECTRICITY....TAKE THE BACK OFF THE TV---LOOK UP AND YOU WILL SEE 3 PICTURE TUBES POINTING UP,,,ON TOP OF THE TUBES THERE IS A LENS (GLASS)...YOU CAN SPRAY GLASS CLEANER ON RAG OR PAPER TOWELL AND GENTLY RUB OFF ALL THE DUST AND DIRT--USUALLY REALLY BAD IF SMOKERS-- WHEN U GET THRU ,,PUT THE BACK AND REPLUG IN WALL OUTLET--THERE IS ALSO A MIRROR ON PROJECTION TV'S --I RECOMMEND A TECH FOR THAT SERVICING --IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT DOING THIS ----DON'T

THE FRONT SCREENS USUALLY AND RARELY NEED CLEANING...JUST USE A SOFT CLOTH AND RUB TOP TO BOTTOM ON THE OUTSIDE ONLY-GEENTLY TUNICA

Screen went black, no picture

A clue to what is wrong is by looking from the back (taking the back off) and looking to see if the three picture tubes have any yellow glow at the bottom of them where the three identical boards are located on each tube.. If you have no glow there you possibly have a resistor R4703 open. It is a 3.3 ohm resistor and feeds the voltage to the filaments in each tube where the glow is suppose to be. If you do have the glow the problem could be much more complicated. Another to check is to see if the menu comes up on the screen. You could possibly be in the wrong input mode, Check your input mode with the input button on the remote The number R4703 is a location number to identify where the resistor is. This is all I can tell you that would not require much more complicated procedures requiring a tv repairman to look at it. If you have an ohm meter you can check R4703 but it must be checked out of circuit. (or at least one leg loose) Hope this helps

Mitsubishi vs 5051 rear projection tv sound but no picture

No video but good audio Mitsubishi VS5051. Check R509 and R 519, 100 ohm resistors located on the main PCB near the flyback transformer. Also bad connections on any of the yokes and the vertical output IC will cause the same problem.

1998 mitsubishi big screen tv model vs-50603

Good Day, bigjim;

No inner tube. The tube may light up but it no video bias to turn the tube on, or the tube is so gassy that it doesn't emit properly.

It sounds like you will be in the market for another TV, because it sounds like like the CRT may be bad.

Hope this was helpful and not tooo late.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
