At first we couldn't get the time to project on the ceiling. Now, we can't get it to shut off. We have hit the off button for the projector and now the time display on the ceiling will not shut off. Any solutions?

Re: Emerson Smart Set Clock Radio CKS3095S
You need to reset the microprocessor in the Clock/Radio. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C source. You must also remove the internal battery (CR2430). You must let the Clock/Radio set without any power source for at least 3 hours to allow all the power to drain from the microprocessor. After the power has drained from the microprocessor, you can reinsert the internal battery and reconnect the Clock/Radio to the A/C power source. Now test the Clock/Radio, to See if the functions have returned to normal. If they have not returned to normal, unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Replace this battery with a new Battery (CR2430). Let the microprocessor drain all the power out. Then reinsert the new battery and plug the Clock/Radio in to the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio functions should have returned to normal. If this is not the case, then you may have a more serious problem with the Clock/Radio. You will need to call the Emerson Customer Support. The Emerson Customer Support Telephone number is 1-800-909-1240. Give them the make and model number of your Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance with your problem. I hope this information helps you solve your problem. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.

I just experienced the same problem this week. Don't waste the money on the battery as it did not help...still no lights. I'm very disappointed as I'm, also, out of warranty and I really liked this clock.
You should take this Clock/Radio back for a refund or exchange. If that is not possible, try taking the battery out and unplug the Clock/Radio. Leave it set for at least an hour with no power. This will let the microprocessor discharge and reset itself. You also need to replace the battery. It is a CR2430. You can find them in most large electronic stores, large drugstores and supermarkets. Fry's electronics and Radio shack carry them. You can also buy them on line. After letting the Clock/Radio discharge for at least a hour, put the battery back in and plug it in. The functions should return to normal. If not you may have a more serious problem with the microprocessor. You can call Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020 and ask them for help with the problem. I hope this information help you with your problem.

Press the Alarm Mode button – it has options for Weekend, meaning Sat and Sun only; Weekdays (Mon-Fri), and Everyday
While holding either the ALM 1 or ALM 2 button, press up or down to set the correct wake-up time
Release ALM 1 (or 2) when you are finished
Sorry it took so long to give you a answer to your problem. I hope this information help you with your problem. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day! Dear Emerson SmartSet® Clock/Clock Radio Owner:
Your Emerson SmartSet® Clock or Clock Radio includes Emerson?s patentedAuto Time Setting System that
automatically sets the clock to the correct year, month, date, day and time, the first time that you plug it in, and
after every power interruption. It also includes a built-in long life lithium battery that can maintain the time and
alarm settings for up to 5 years, or even longer.
As an added benefit we have programmed the internal SmartSet® computer to automatically adjust for Standard/
Daylight Saving Time changes through the year 2097. TheDaylight Saving Time information programmed into
all SmartSet® models was based on the United States Uniform TimeAct of 1966, which formalized theDaylight
Saving Time period that we observe today. CurrentlyDaylight Saving Time begins on the first Sunday in April
and ends on the last Sunday in October.
The new Energy Bill that was signed into law by President Bush in August 2005 includes a provision to
extend Daylight Saving Time. Beginning in 2007 Daylight Saving Time will begin on the second Sunday in
March and end on the first Sunday in November.
Of course this is a situation that is beyond the control of Emerson, or any other company that produces
devices with an automaticDaylight Saving Time adjustment feature. For example most computers, PDA?s, and
many other devices also have automatic DST adjustments. Manufacturers of these devices must now begin to
make adjustments to the automatic DST software to agree with the new DST timing for 2007.
Beginning in 2007 the current automatic DST default settings in this device would no longer be correct. It
would then be necessary for you to manually adjust the TIME ZONE setting 4 times each year as follows:
1.) On the second Sunday in March you would have to set your clock to the next lower number time zone.
For example if you lived in the Eastern Time zone (Zone 02) you would then change your clock to Zone
1 to move it ahead by one hour.
2.) On the first Sunday in April, this clock will automatically advance by one hour. You must then set the
clock back to your correct time zone. For example if you lived in the Eastern Time zone you would set
your clock back to Zone 02.
3.) On the last Sunday in October you would again set your clock to the next lower numbered time zone.
4.) On the first Sunday in November you would again set your clock back to your correct time zone.
Instructions for changing the Time Zone setting are found in the Owner?s Manual.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause due to circumstances that are beyond our control.
