Re: clicking noise

You will need to remove the front panel. There are two clips at the top corners (about an inch from the end) that hold the front. Release the clip and the front will come forward. This will allow you to see the working parts. Start the machine and look/listen. This is the best way to determine where the noise is coming from. If there is a bell shaped device on the bottom of the motor (motor clutch), it may be the problem.

Turn the machine on and it fills with water but when it gets to the agitateing the agitater does not move and just makes a loud clicking noise, ( coupler maybe)?

If it pumps out the water but the washer won't spin out the clothes then yes the coupler is broken.
To check it out flip the controls and remove the case. Very easy repair, only a few tools needed.

Top of agitator does not agitate with lower agitator.(dual agitation) whirlpool model LA3860XW00

You will need to replace the Dogs. Take cap off of the center of the agitater, take bolt out of center and pull agitater up and off. Pull two pieces apart. There are four dogs that catch on gear teeth inside your agitater. The four dogs come in a hit, sometimes with a couple other pieces. Has to do with which model you have) replace these four and any other pieces that come in the kit you order. This will fix your problem.

Fairly new ge washer spitts out grease/oil from under agitater

Remove the agitator and inspect the upper shaft bearing condition by trying to push the shaft in various directions. It should not be possible to observe movement in a good bearing. If the bearing looks good, then replace the rubber seal just under the plastic block on the shaft top. You must be very careful not to damage the shaft where the seal lip rides. If the bearing is loose, the machine must be torn down to remove the shaft from the supporting post.

Washer make a clicking noise

Zoobs, you could have something stuck under the agitator. The agitator will pull straight off. Grip it on each side and pull up hard, but don't hit yourself in the face. If that don't work, try slipping a belt under it and pull. Check for something caught under it. Another possibility could be the nylon suspension rod socket supports in the back. They will make a noise during agitation if they are dry. Put a little 3 in 1 oil to quite them down. Take the front panel off and check the pulley and belt, see if anything is out of whack. I also often find the motor support hitting the bottom panel during agitation making noise. Take the front panel off and observe during agitation. See if the support is striking the bottom. If so, just bend the bottom panel down. back.
