Re: ploblem with v3i
No matter which way you cut it, the unit requires a flash. You really should go to a motorola service center, but if you must do it yourself, Download RSD lite and go to www.motox.info and download a monsterpack for the v3i. Make sure you check the version of firmware you are running by pushing * # and send at the same time. This is called bootloader mode. The mosterpack for your v3i will start with R479 or R47A depending which version you have. While the phone is in bootloader mode start RSD lite plug your v3i in and click flash. Should take about 15 min

the keypads just lights for about 1 second ands then turn off again.
i tried to use the combination key,
POWER BUTTON (+) * (+) # and then the screen displays the BOOT LOADER thing so i thought this phone might be ok
i do to and i cant get another fone as i cant afford to get a new one . mine occured wen i was reciving a video from bluetooth it froze then i took out the batttery then put it back in but wen i turned it on i had a white screen and also now wen i turn it on it dosnt turn on at all then only thing it eva showns wen it is on is a white screen. - bloody hell i wrote an essay
Remove the battery, wait ten minutes and put it back.
Try also removing the sim, try a different one if you have it.
If you have a memory card start it without the card inside.
Try also the following procedure: "press and hold the * # andpower button all at the same time until you see text come up on thescreen. If you get the text on the screen, pull the battery out, pressthe power button three or four times to discharge the phone completelyand then try the battery again and hold the power button for 8 secondsor until the blue in the kaypad gives a slight flash dim" from HowardForums
