You need custom firmware to enter recovery mode. If you already have custom firmware, access recovery mode by COMPLETELY turning off your PSP and turning it back on while holding the R button.

My psp still shows everything is getting power, but my screen wont come on

  1. Remove the battery from the left side of the PSP while it is still on. The unit will power down instantly. Wait 10 seconds and then replace the battery.
  2. Press both clear shoulder buttons at the top of the PSP and keep them held down while the PSP reboots. This initiates a "Recovery" mode.
  3. Press down on the control pad to locate a "recovery" folder. This will contain all of your PSP content, including games, music, videos and podcasts that are saved on the device. Highlight this folder and press the "X" button to begin reinstalling your content.
Hope this helps, give me a good thumbs up please!

Get the latest firmware from the sony site and a pandora battery to unbrick the psp.

Use the pandora battery to load the service mode, this is like a normal bettery **** enhanced, use it to load the new firmware.

If this doesn't work, get a new main board for your psp.

Succes.

Your psp is in Flash 0 mode. To take it of Flash 0 mode you turn off your psp completely. Once thats done you want to hold the R button and turn on the psp while holding R. This will take you to recovery mode. Only do the step that tells you to click Flash 0
