I need to know how to get the dvd player out so I can clean it---can't find any tutorials on how to do it---I've opened it up and I just can't get the drive out to see how to take the cover off the player to clean the lens. Already took out the screws just won't come out without possiably breaking something--and I don't want to do that. Can someone direct me on how to do it?

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

It's likely there is dust on the CD player lens. Many DVD units have two lens units, one for DVD's and the other for CD. You will to clean the CD one.

No valid DVD displays on my Toshiba SD-P1850

Most portable dvd players will not read burned dvd/cds. Please be sure to use originals in your dvd player. If you have a user's manual it should tell you if your player reads CDR's or DVD/RWs

Toshiba sd-4990 dvd player will not load a disk

Your toshiba is not spinning that's why it keeps on saying loading. Unplug the dvd Open the device, once open plugin the dvd and put the dvd cleaner in the player. take your finger on the top where the dvd disk is and spin the disk. What happening is that you are cleaning the len. keep spinning until it spin on its own.Put the toshiba top back on and clean again. It should clean on it's on. Now you can play your dvd. Clean your dvd on a regular basic.

Every DVD gets stuck with "Loading"

could be just the mechanism that detects whether theres a disc in.
Have to open it up to find out tho, not a good idea unless you know what youre doing.

I've had the same symptoms on the last two Sony DVD's that I've rented. I managed to get around this by hitting one of the menu buttons after the loading message stopped.
