After soldering new batteries my shaver´s on-off switch won´t wor

I have successfully replaced the batteries two years ago in my Norelco 965RX shaver with two Rayovac AA Nicad batteries. Works as good as the original batteries. You must solder them in and solder a band (solder wicking works well) across the + and - terminals at one end.

To replce, first open the shaver by removing the two screws on the back. The back cover can then be removed and you can access the batteries. For easier replacement, it is sometimes suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs

To change batteries, you will need to remove the two screws on the back to take off the back cover. You will then have access to th batteries.
Batteries are soldered to the circuit board. You can unsolder to remove but I would suggest that you carefully break the tabs off of the old batteries. This will leave the old battery tabs connected to the circuit board. You can then just solder the new batteries to the old tabs. This way you dont have to solder irectly to the circuit board.

You will need to remove the two screws on the back to remove the back cover. Inside, you will first need to remove the two white plastic pieces that the screws you just removed screw into. The larger one snaps in and will have to be popped out from the bottom on each side. The other one has two screws that need to be removed. Once these are removed, you will be able to better access the batteries.
The batteries are soldered to the circuit board but instead of unsoldering them, I suggest carefully breaking the solder tabs off of the ends of the batteries. This leaves the old tabs still attached to the circuit board and you can them simply solder the new batteries to those old tabs. This prevents you from having to put a hot soldering iron directly to the circuit board.

The rechargeable batteries are solder into the circuit board of the electric shaver. You'll have to use a soldering iron to de-solder the terminals/tabs from the PCB (printed circuit board) in order to get them out.

Then you'll need new replacement rechargeable batteries to solder back into the shaver.

You can get teh correct replacement batteries from Electric Shaver Service in Lincoln, Nebraska (if you're in the US or Canada). They even do service and repair work in about a week, if you want to have them fix your shaver for you.
