Need the 'restore disc' for umax 318T pc notebook- where can I get one?

Just got a umax 318T pc notebook, was told the files are corrupted and it needs a 'restore disc' with the drivers for the modem, video and sound cards in it. Called the company and due to this model's advanced age they no longer carry it. Really need to get this up and running, can't afford a new one at this time. Help!!

Acer Aspire 6920 Restarts in Normal mode and works only in safe mode

Sounds like the MBR ( boot files) are corrupted. Try formatting the hdd before you instal again. I'm sure you have a restore sector on the hdd in which case, if you have done anything to that then you'll need to have the restore disc set which usually comprises of the restore disc and the drivers disc. Either way....just make sure you format c and not d which is usually the resore partition. Good luck

Start > Control Panel > Sound > Adjust Sound Volume ( For Vista and Higher Versions )

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control

After i restore my Laptop i see only a white cursor on a black screen

You may want to check your video card. This can happen if something is corrupted in the driver files, a reload of the Os may be in order.

Hi there, i have a dell latitude d620 refurbished and there is no sound when watching video clips via youtube, mediaplayer etc when i go to control panel is says no audio device. is it jst a driver update...

yes, if there's no audio device you'll have to install the drivers. Check also if you have a modem installed. In some laptop models the sound and modem were hooked onto a UAA bus, which requires a Microsoft UAA driver (about 70MB file). I've seen one too many times that peoplw who reinstalled Windows forget about this driver and then cant install the modem and sound card.

My laptop start very slow and no audio

Possible that some of the files are corrupt or removed off with a virus in the system. you will need to reinstall the OS if the restoration to an earlier date will not improve.
Now reinstall the sound card drivers which also could have lost with the virus.

No audio output

For my Thinkpad, when I bought it used it had the same problem. I went to Lenovo's website and found my Laptop from the list. Then I choose a "System Update" file, downloaded it and it told me all the drivers were wrong from the video to the sound card. I downloaded all the files and installed them and presto every driver was perfect. During the install you will have to note all the old versions as they will have to be uninstalled either first or during. IBM Thinkpads are bullet proof and 100% restore-able to factory settings with their drivers from IBM (or LENOVO now) not get them from anywhere else. The person that sold me the laptop told me the laptop worked bad, so he gave it tom me cheap..and now 3 years later, its still running perfect. Hope this helps.

Follow up Re: Blank Screen

most likely the operating system of your computer is already corrupted. you need to run the recovery on the computer. if you have the recovery discs with you, simply put in the disc and boot to cd. included in the recovery disc are the drivers that you need for your computer to work. and that includes the video graphics driver. you can also visit for the video graphics driver.

i hope this info helps.

Installing memory

There is a small cover retained by a screw on the bottom of the laptop that covers the ram modules. Remove the screw, pop the cover loose and remove, there are your ram modules. If you are increasing memory besure to look at the old modules for type and frequency and buy the same type. BPCS
