Its the error code for a long drain time most likely you need to check the filter in your pump for obstructions First if you have a wet vac pull the drain hose out of the drain spout and use the vac to pull the water out of the washer through the drain hose.If not you will need a pair of radiator hose clamps from the auto parts store. Pull the screws from the lower panel at the front of the washer and remove it.in side you will see a rubber hose coming down from the tub to the drain pump. Put the radiator hose clamp there if you didn't have a shop vac.On the front of the pump is a round part with a handle turn that and remove the pump filter .Clean any foreign objects out of the pump and look inside the pump to make sure no impeller blades are broken if any are you will have to replace the pump. put the filter back in and tighten it. If you had to use the hose clamp remove it now.reassemble and don't forget to give the tech his four boxes if this fixes it

AWESOME, it's 2011 and his technique still worked perfectly! I found two kid socks and one infant mitten, a penny, and 8 BB's stuck in the little holes! No wonder it couldn't drain!!! Love this washer as I bought it in 2005 and this is my first fix! Thanks tech17, you will always be relevant!

Don't mean to sound like a dumb girl, but where are the screws from the lower panel at the front of the washer located? I can feel what might be two screws on the underside of the front panel, but don't want to just start pulling stuff off in case it's the wrong thing!

I did exactly what tech17 recommended and it worked like a charm. I had a shop vac so that definitely helped with the draining process. After I unscrewed the filter, low and behold, my child's small sock was plugging the valve. Now to see it how it go there.

my plug was further up where the large black hose hooks onto the bottom of the tub. I removed it by taking the back off the washer and then removing the clamp on the drain hose. I found a lot of material clogging it up. I dug it out with a bent wire.

Hi there,

I suspected suds build up, so I tried both regular wash cycles (e.g. Normal) and Rinse and Drain cycles multiple times to clear suds in the system, but still received the F02 error. Sometimes the SUD error message came up, but not consistently.

I ran the built-in Diagnostics tests. It made it to C:06 then got stuck.

In both scenarios above, the washing machine continued to try to pump water out, despite the fact that all the water had already been drained. After 8 or so minutes, the F02 error came on. As I understand it, if the pressure switch detects either water or suds, it commands the drain pump to continue. After 8 or so minutes, if it's still detecting water or suds, the F02 error is displayed.

I performed the following with no success:
1. Check Wire Harness connections - OK
2. Check Drain pump. – OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
3. Check Drain pump motor - OK, as water drains at a rapid rate
4. Check that the Drain hose and Drain Pump Filter is clear of
foreign objects. – OK, ran a cable through both hose assemblies (exterior and interior) and not blocked.
5. Check the CCU – appears to function normally.
6. There were no kinks in the hoses, nor was the height of the pump beyond what the manual recommends.

After more diagnostics and troubleshooting, I found that the Pressure Switch was stuck and reported the SUDS state (continuity made between contacts 11 and 14 on the Pressure Switch itself). I ran many Rinse and Normal cycles with no detergent and still got this F02 error. I checked the state of the Pressure Switch’s Empty and Level 1 contacts which intermittently reported the correct water level condition (EMPTY and Level 1). In all cases contacts 11 and 14 (SUDS) were continuously made (connected) irrespective of water level, rinse conditions and the use of no detergent.

I removed the pressure switch and tested it by blowing into the inlet and did hear the switch click, so it seemed to work properly. Given the diagnostics above, I concluded that the pressure switch hose must have been clogged.

Good Luck!!

I'm sure this would have worked if either I owned a huge horse-powered wet/dry vacuum or didn't have a filter clogged with close to 1 cup of ****. That being the case, the instructions got me in the direction of understanding that my filter was indeed so clogged that I couldn't evacuate the water with my wimpy vacuum and got me into the MacGyver realm. I wound up removing the access panel under the door and using a T-20 (TORX) head bit w/ driver removed the filter/pump unit from the base of the washer (keeping the hoses connected). As a side note, if you don't have TORX bits, a 7/64" hex head wrench/bit will work too. I then fashioned a trough by cutting a 24 oz plastic party cup in half length wise and duct taping it to the underside of the filter housing. After placing a 3 gallon cleaning bucket under the trough, I slowly unscrewed the filter housing cap and allowed the water and some of the "gunk" to drain into the bucket. Not as clean as using a vacuum to **** the water out of attached hoses, but it worked.

With the back and top off, you will see the pressure switch (back right top). Attached to that is a small black hose. Follow it down to the drum and you will see a white assembly (air Trap) that attaches to the drum. With a flash light you can observe how much guck is in the white assembly, if this is clogged you will have to remove a small screw holding it on, remove the wires and unlatch clip near back. Have small container to catch water as you remove assembly. Once off use a bottle brush or tooth brush to clean out! This guck stops Vacuum from working due to slow drain and poor suction and produces F02 error.

He4t error sud and f2

Hi, "F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is an indication that you may have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system somewhere. In most cases this means there is a clog in the drain pump or inlet line running from the wash tub to the pump. There is a white screw off cap on the drain pump that you can remove to inspect the pump impeller and clean.

The "SUD" error code can often occur in conjunction with the "F02" error code. This is due to air being detected in the drainage system, which can occur if the pump is not running, or if you have an obstruction BEFORE the pump. You need to remove the inlet hose from the pump to ensure it is also not blocked. Correct your drainage system fault, and the SUD error should go away.

If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

He4t kenmore elite smartwash quietpak9. keeps flashing F2?

"F02" is a Long Drain error. This is an indication that there's an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. Most commonly, the drain pump reservoir needs to be checked and cleaned. The access screws are on the bottom front edge of the lower toe panel directly below the door. You may need to prop up the two front feet of the washer to access them (a 2x4 works well for this). The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced. If the pump requires replacement, the following link explains how:

Replacements can be purchased online at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare.

Our Kenmore HE4T frontload washer is displaying an F02 troubleshooting code. What does that mean?

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is an indication that you have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. Most commonly, there is something lodged in the drain pump or inlet line running from the wash tub to the pump. There is a white screw off cap on the drain pump that you can remove to inspect the pump impeller and clean. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608545-f02_error_code

Included is a follow-on link that explains how to check the drain pump to clean. You may also have to remove the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. Debris and small articles of clothing can commonly clog in this area as well causing the drain cycle to fail.

NOTE: The "SUD" error code can often occur in conjunction with the "F02" error code. This is due to air being detected in the drainage system, which can occur if the pump is not running, or if you have an obstruction BEFORE the pump. You need to remove the inlet hose from the pump to ensure it is also not blocked. Correct your drainage system fault, and the SUD error should go away.

Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

My washer has f2 what does this mean?

HI. this code represents a Long Drain issue.

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and F02 is flashed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
• Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects(located, and mounted on the actual pump)
• If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

I can't think of what that error is off the top of my head and the owners manual would not tell you what that code means. Take off the bottom panel of the washer (3 screws underneath usually 1/4" or #20 torx) and the tech sheet is inside against the right sied or on the back of the panel. It will tell you what that means and some tips on what to look for. If you have any questions let me know.
