Found in the owners manual.

It's important to reset the Lamp timer after replacing the lamp since the Lamp timer
will trigger the warning message. This can be done in Standby mode by pressing the
following sequence within 5 sec.
RESET, Left Arrow Key, right Arrow Key, ENTER.
This is also explained in the operation manual of the Lamp.

I have a Sony VPL-CX61 Multimedia Projector. I just changed the lamp and I cannot get the "please replace lamp" message to go off.

When you use a projector it automatically keeps a timer of how long the lamp has been used for. The message that comes up on screen saying "please replace the lamp" comes up not because it's some how sensing that the lamp is getting old, but because the lamp hours gets to a certain number (usually up around 1500 hours). Because of this when you replace the lamp you need to reset the lamp hours counter, or the projector doesn't even know you've changed it. Every projector does it this way, and they all do it a different way, I googled the model you gave us and found this set of instructions on how to do it, so give it a go.

Reset the lamp counter hours of operation for the projector SONY VPL-CX61
Using the remote commander while the unit is powered up, press "ENTER", "ENTER", "LEFT"
and "ENTER" in sequence. A prompt will appear on the screen asking if you wish to enter the factory mode.
Press the "UP" key on the remote and the unit is now in service mode. This sequence will add two new groups
to the customer setup menu. Press the "MENU" button to view.
Whenever the lamp is replaced, the lamp timer should be reset. With the unit in the "factory" mode, press
"RESET", "LEFT", "RIGHT" and "ENTER" on the remote commander. Verify the lamp hours have been reset to
zero in the service menu.

Hope this worked for you,

damage.

i. Press and hold the Exit 5 button on the

projector for 5 seconds to display the total used

lamp time.

ii. Press Auto on the projector or on the remote

control to reset the lamp hour to "0".

Lamp is not coming on. It was replaced recently Benq 8720

Check in your instruction Manual about pressing a button sequence while starting up. Some projectors do not actually know when you have changed the lamp, so you have to reset the lamp timer by pressing a button sequence. Often a genuine replacement lamp will have an instruction set which comes with the new lamp ( If you still have it !! :) You may have replaced the lamp but not reset the counter and it has shutdown because the counter has reached a critical umber of hours.

I have an old video projector, a SHARP XG-C40XE, and I was told that there is no immediate need for a replacement lamp after 2000 hours. Instead of changing the lamp, you can simply reset the built in...

I would replace the Lamp. Too many times I have seen people reset the Lamp Timer and when the Lamp explodes, it also causes the Ballast to fail. At that point it may not be repairable due to parts not being available or the cost of them being through the roof.
Contact Sharps Customer Service and see if they could hook you up with a Lamp and the Lamp Timer Reset info.
That is my recommendation.

My TV blinking timer, lamp and stand by. is that lamp defective? Can you please tell what to do or any other probelem? email: [email protected] vijoy

Most DLP tv's have an internal lamp hours counter. Once the preset number of hours has been reached, an indicator will start flashing letting you know it is time to change the lamp. Now, if your tv is working fine, reference your owners manual and reset the lamp timer to turn off this indicator. You will probably be replacing your lamp soon, but wait until it goes bad. Hope this helps
