Question about Hitachi C29-F800S 29" TV
1995 was a long time ago .. however., i feel that my tv is not ready to leave me yet . .. heres its problem ., it almost looks like i have a RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE., the picture has those wavey lines thru-out the entire screen ., first off ., when you turn the tv on .. per say it LETS YOU .. like most others who have experinced .. just unplug it and plug it back in ..and keep pushing the button to turn it on.. eventually it does turn on ., thing is ., it must be on at least a half hour for the color to come up .. the picture looks GREAT in black and white ., but then the color starts to come in and then we get all the wavey lines.. ive had my "cable-guy" out.. he says its nothing to do with my cable (of course) no loose wires ... all good connectors etc. .. okay .. now you tell me ., or please try to tell me .. whats going on with my television and approximately what are the parts for this? ..
thank you IN ADVANCE !!
Well, thats 12 years ago...and in human years that a blink of an eye..in TV years, its a lifetime. It sounds as though the power supply is leaking AC into the circuits.
That being said...now what. The reason that TV repair shops are dropping like flies, is that there is no way to make money in TV repair. The local repair shop here charges $75.00...JUST TO DO A QUOTE. Now, I can mosey down to Wal-Mart, and buy a really nice TV for around $150 that is bigger, and looks better than my dead one...so what are MOST people going to do. Ok, I know...a wal-Mart TV isnt probibly going to last as long as your old one...as a matter of fact, it will probibly last only about 4-6 years, but, it costs probibly a quarter of what you paid for your original TV, and only a bit more than you will pay for your TVs repair.
Even a small repair is going to take 2 hours, and at 35-45$ a hour..it just aint worth it. As well, to keep costs down, most manufacturers are dropping any sort of parts support, or tech support, so specific parts are getting impossible to find.
....its a whole new world...electronically that is!
