Re: frozen green light
I would recommend that you get a firmware upgrade..since you have a hard drive on your device instead of a flsh card..i would recommend you to call creative so they can do a firmware upgrade on the device...

Step 1: Like all electronic devices, iPods sometimes freeze and become unresponsive. Sometimes iPods lock up when they're dropped on the ground or come in contact with water, but less destructive accidents may also cause them to stop working. All versions of the iPod have a way to reset their hardware should they stop playing music or refuse to turn off.
Check the "Hold" switch on the top case of your iPod to be sure it isn't activated. An iPod will appear frozen and unresponsive if this feature is activated. A lock symbol will appear on your iPod's screen if it is in Hold mode. Switch the "Hold" button on and off once. Place one finger on the "Menu" button and another on the center button. Press both buttons at the same time and hold them for up to 8 seconds. Release the "Menu" and center buttons once the Apple logo appears on your iPod's screen. Try releasing the buttons and pressing and holding them a second time if the logo does not appear, as it can sometimes take several tries to reset a severely frozen iPod. Press and hold the top button and the center "Home" button on a frozen and unresponsive iPod touch to reset it. Hold the buttons for at least 10 seconds and wait for the Apple logo to appear on the screen, then release the buttons. Connect your iPod to its powerblock or a computer if it is still frozen. Wait 5 minutes and then try to reset it. Sometimes an iPod can appear frozen when its battery runs out and just needs a few minutes of power to start working again.

Blinking Orange A blinking orange light indicates the iPod Shuffle is receiving an update via iTunes to the device's internal components. Updates are free and automatically sent directly from Apple through iTunes to your iPod shuffle before a sync process starts. Disconnecting iPod Shuffle When the player's light is blinking orange, do not unplug the device from your computer's USB port this will stop the update process and possible corrupt the device's internal hard drive. Let the update process and sync process finish before clicking "Eject" within iTunes and removing the player. Disk Use Enabled If you use your iPod Shuffle as a flash drive and not as a music player, a blinking orange light means that the device is connected to your computer and ready to accept files. The "Disk Use" enabled setting is changeable within iTunes if you decide to use your iPod Shuffle for music storage instead of file storage. When set up as a flash drive, the iPod Shuffle is assigned a drive letter by your computer's operating system and the drive lets you "drag and drop" files to the device. b> Charging If your iPod shuffle's battery is completely depleted or low on charge, connect the player to your computer immediately for charging then leave it connected to receive any updates to the device's software and internal components. Its indicator light may or may not blink orange until after it is fully charged. If the battery is low on charge or completely depleted, you may receive an error stating that the iPod is corrupt or needs restoring, close the error message and let the device fully charge.
If the Reader is frozen, you can try the following:
1. Disconnect the reader from the computer 2. Hit the reset button at the bottom of the reader for 3 seconds 3. Slide the power switch 4. Screen will blink and will show "Opening book" 5. Allow the reader to load and then see if operational
Note: If the reader get stuck again, connect it to the computer for 15-30 minutes and allow it to charge, make sure the red steady light comes on.
well if your Philips MP3 GoGear freezes up. find somthing small enough to fit in the reset hole and push it in until it shuts down.if ur light shuts off but is still froze on the same screen hold the power button and it wiil power down all the way.l then turn your gogear on and it will be ready to go TRUST ME I JUST DID IT...HAHAHA
I have the exact mp3 player and this has happened to me many times. Try holding the power button for a minute or two and if that doesn't work you will need to take the screws off of the back cover. In there the battery will be right on top. Pull it out for a few seconds and put it back in. That will fix your problem.
Let the battery drain completely and then plug into computer. There was a leap year glitch from Microsoft and the fix is working today. Ours froze yesterday and it's OK this morning. This only fixes those that froze Dec. 31st.
