Did it make noise? The only moving part is the color wheel which is the only other part of the TV besides the lamp that is reasonably serviceable in my opinion.
Budget $200 to fix the problem in parts since you should replace the lamp or have a spare nearby.
is better if u replace the optical block cost less money , also it come with new lamp and color wheel and new ballast , all this parts go bad after couple years
I have a problem with my HLN 5065W Samsung DLP that 3 other folks have and no solution. After the set is on from 5 minutes to 6 hours, the screen will freeze in black and white, I can turn it off for 5 minutes and it will display a good picture again. Sometimes the screen will just go dark blue, TV has to be cycled on/off to get the display back. This problem is getting worse, started as once a month, now 3-5 times a day. I have a tech background and can read a schematic, HELP.
It's most likely the digital board, Samsung p/n# Bp94-00385a but I'd trace test both the digital and analog first before blindly replacing it - too costly to just guess..
