I did have a paper jam earlier today, but it unjammed and printed the page. But now, I keep getting an error message stating that the paper is jammed, but I have powered on and off, I have unplugged it and still nothing. Help please anyone.

There is simply no paper jam, but the printer insist. I've tried several times on/off, and paper goes through when it restarts. Then the message appears on the printer screen. I press ok, it processes (but the wheels do not turn) and then again same message.

paper jammed in rear feeder. Clear paper and checked all areas. Still says paper jam. How do I fix it

  • Anonymous Oct 14, 2008

Same symptoms as others. I have manually fed paper through the path, and no luck. The printer still reports that he "output slot" is jammed. Pressing the feed switch to try to change trays does not work; the printer will not alow me to change trays. Cycling printer off and on, disconnecting, even re-booting computer all have no effect.

I think maybe my rollers are getting worn down, but can't seem to find a replacement anywhere that tells me that is exactly the one I need or instructions on how to replace them.

I recently had the same problem and was very bummed, because I like the printer, having received it as part of an Apple bundle promotion.
The problem I was having is that I had paper in the rear (auto sheet feeder) area and when I'd try to print, all I heard was clicking and then I'd get a message that there was no paper installed.

Here's what to do.
On the panel, on the left side, there's a button called "Feed Switch."
You'll notice that there's a graphic of the printer to the left of the button with 2 lights. Push the Feed Switch button to toggle the light from the front tray (cassette) to the rear tray (auto sheet feeder)... and when the light is on the rear try (vs. the front tray) you're all set.
This will fix the problem.

There's a open thingy in the centre of the back of the printer. Open that and you should be able to pull it out from there. It took me a while because by brother cut a piece of paper and put the remains back into the cassette. So the paper was too small. If this happens to you then you can use tweezers. If you don't have tweezers then... tough nuts!!! (joking)

Paper jam in canon MP600 Printer

If you cannot see the paper jam, perhaps it is inside the machine:

1) Open the rear cover and inspect the area for any bits of paper that might impede the paper path

2) On the front of the machine, pull out the cassette (paper tray) and inspect the cassette area for any paper jammed inside.

1 Answer

Canon MP600 paper jam

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Pink tinge to colored photos

Canon has a number of things you can check in their knowledgebase. Go here. Type "pink tint" in the search box and click Search. If you select the first item "tinted printing" you will get at least 21 things you can try (only 10 show up per screen).

MP600 Paper Jam

I just had the same problem, tried everything and resigned myself to buying a new one. I was about to throw the thing when I saw the Card backing of an A4 Pad. I thought I have nothing to lose so forced this through the machine and Bingo. It cured it.
