My ps3 keeps saying that there is a settings error to press X for it to be fixed when i press X the screan goes black and nothing happens

keep finger on the on/off button and switch on and keep holding for around 7 seconds till you hear a couple of beeps, you will now be able to re set the hdmi settings and allocate a picture again.

your hard drive or something dosent work properly go to the place u bought it and tell them that your screan blacked out they will fix it

With your PS3 turned off, press and hold the Power button on the front of the PS3 for about 10 seconds (the system will beep as normal as it starts up but after 7-10 seconds it will beep again). The video settings should now be reverted. Doing this will also reset any theme settings.

reset the setting on the ps3 and that should fix it

Try checking your HDMI or VGA lead and reset the Ps3 Settings

The other way to fix it, you need to disassemble your laptop if you've familiar the unit. Usually the HDD has not been attach check the HDD cable (SATA or IDE) replace it. On other hand if the same things happen and you don't have windows CD, it's time to buy an windows CD installer. Reformat your unit to fix the problem.

try a different controller if it does the same thing then is the control sensor inside the unit and if is no doing it then is the control try this and we can figure out with one is't

I had the same problem.

Whilst the machine is turned on, plug in the usb to the wireless controller and the PS3 should detect it and ask you to press the ps button (center of controller). Do this and you should get a menu, select RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS, and you will have to input time, date etc but it does get machine working again - previous data is lost and you may need to keep trying as machine took several attempts to detect wireless controller - just persevere!!! I tried pressing buttons etc, switching off but nothing else worked for me ... Hope this helps

if there is any way that you can get to your ps3's main memory, either restore your system or open up your ps3 and find its memory and take it out and put it back in.
