I did this and now media player tells me they have an unknown error with my players. There still refuse to take songs that I have downloaded before.

I have the updater and am up to date: all the files are in my music. I can play them using media player

I have formatted. Any other suggestions.

Go to sandisk.com and do a firmware update;
you can clear the mp3 by formatting it in the msc mode through MyComp: these two should clear up any issues, unless the song file is not a true mp3 or wma.

make sure the songs you have are in mymusic folder, a lot of times we dump them and media player retains the titles; also make sure you have the latest firmware update for the player: updater is avail at sandisk.com under downloads.

Getting the message: "Synchronize to listen to your audiobooks" How do I do this?

Make sure that you have Windows Media Player version 10 or higher installed. Then, run Windows Media Player, and connect your Clip to your PC. WMP should give you the ability to "sync" your Clip. Besides copying music to your Clip (if you want), this will cause licensing information on your PC to be updated and compared against the licensing information embedded in your audiobooks.

How do I get the downloaded music from my computer into the clip?

You have 2 ways to transfer your songs from your computer to your sansa clip:
1. Plug sansa clip to computer, double click on "Sansa Clip ...GB", double click on "Internal Memory", you will see the file "Music", copy your songs and paste them into Music file of the device.
2. Using Windows Media Player: open windows media player, plug sansa clip into computer, click on Sync tab, select songs that you want to sync, drag and drop song selected into "Sync list" on the right side of the windows media player (you should update wmp11), then click on button Start Sync.

Good luck

Decided against buying the San Disk Sansa Clip because it does not appear to be Mac compatible. I do not like Windows applications as they always fail or cause other problems.

I have a sansa clip mp3 player and I lost the disk???

It should be recognized by your computer. I did a search for drivers and they are not needed for this model.
For music, After the computer has recognized it has been plugged in. Start, My Computer, and it should show up in there as (my sansa or sansa clip) something along those lines.
You may open it and drag your music files into the accroding folders inside the device.
OR You may use Windows Media Player 11 to Sync to your Mp3 Player. The Sansa Clip has problems with Windows Media Player 10 so i would reccomend using Media Player 11 to sync.
For future help or more questions please comment,
I hope this has helped :)

Syncing with Windows Media Player

Place the music files that you want to transfer into the My Music folder of your computer - Windows will re-read them, and then you can synchronize to your device. Also, make sure the hold/lock switch is not engaged on the mp3 player - it probably isn't, but just check.

How do i download music to my San Disk Sansa clip MP3 player?

You shold be able to sync the Sansa to your media player on your computer by just connecting the supplie dthe cable to the USB port and open windows media player. If you are just trying to dump songs on to it then all you need do is connect the sansa and go to my computer find the new device, open the device and copy your music from the folder you hvae it in and drop it directly to it. The Sansa is not like the I Pods that use software to sync music. Basically it is like a flash drive (thumb Drive) or a hard drive.

Disk error!

1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up.

2)
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "ILO 2GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and give you a fresh start.
