Question about Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer
My dryer will run for approximately 8 minutes and then shut off. I have to go and turn it on again and it runs again for approximately 8 minutes and shuts off again. With the same pattern over and over.
Rmcfarland I am going to make an assumption. You are using the Automatic cycle. If so then this is wet load detection. Open the dryer door and at the bottom on the front you will see 2 metal bars. This is you moisture sensor. Clean that sensor with a mult purpose cleaner. If detergent and fabric softner sheets build up a coating on this sensor, the control will think you put in a dry load and shut down the dryer. Hope this helps.

The first suggestion I have for you is to simply run an Air Fluff cycle with no heat.
If the Air Fluff cycle runs okay then the problem is most likely with the thermistor.
You can try to run the dryer with the vent hose off and see if there is a difference.
