Refomatted hard drive but now no systems disk and no LAN driver. driver finder programs no good if you can't get out on the internet

Went to the Foxcom site many time but everytime it came up with Site buzy. Try again later. Most sites want you to download Driver Robot or something similar which is a total waste of time if you do not have Internet access AND it's just another useless program I don't particularly want on my machine

The Foxconn site is one of the most useless sites i have ever visited. It always comes up with Site Buzy. Try again later. I'm a computer technician and do know how to transfer drivers, it was just that trying to find the drivers was a nightmare. The other problem was it was a friend in the Orkney Isles that formated his computer and I live in Brighton and was trying to direct him to the correct drivers by phone, not easy if no one around him has a computer. Thanks anyway. Found them and sent him a CD

With another computer, go to FoxConn's site and download the drivers that you need onto a USB stick, or burn them onto a CD.

Then take the LAN driver to your rebuilt computer and install it there.

If this helps, be sure to hit the "thumbs-up" for me before you go!

Go to the Foxcom website and download the drivers you need. It would've been easier if you'd backed up your drivers before reformatting. However I'm sure you'll remember next time.:)

What's your probleIM trying to install windows after putting in a new hard drive and I keep getting error 10e7160017

If this is a blue screen error and it do not let you to install the operation system ..but only loads a few files ..it means that you have let the hard disk set by default ..in BIOS and it is on sata bus..and needs to install the ahci driver ...If you have its original driver disk ..and you have a bootable disk with the operation system ..try to see if it takes the driver from a memory stick ...Just run the installation from the boot-able disk ..and press f 6 when it asks for 3rd party driver ..if you installing windows XP ..or ..when you get to the first screen on windows 7 ..choose to load driver and browse for the ahci driver on the usb stick ..if it can be found..or load it into a partition instead..or a external floppy disk ..Or ..make a boot-able memory stick .and load windows from it ..and use the original disk with drivers to load the ahci driver ..
In case non of these will work ..just go to bios settings first ..and under the hard disk 0 ..select to disable the ahci mode...and select ide compatible ..or ide default ..or plain ide...anyway ..just not ahci ....and the hard disk will be seen and will let you to install the operation system ..
If you are trying to install from a recovery disk ..it may not work ..cause will not recognize the hard disk and may need to use files usually stored in the reserved partition of windows..so ..best to try install from a boot-able disk or boot-able usb device ..and after that load all drivers and programs ..including antivirus..
remember to get the lan driver in handy ..cause without it you will not be able to connect top the internet and finish the drivers and programs installing ..
let me know if you solved the problem and please rate my answer if it's helpful ..have a nice day !

I have a PC Dell Dimension 2400 with a hard 40 GB

Basically when you install a new boot drive you need to install Windows operating system on the new hard drive, also the device drivers (eg video, audio, modem, LAN etc), your programs and data. The reason programs has to be installed is because the installation process copied DLL files to the System folders and makes changes to the registry.
You can only copy your data onto the new hard disk.
To avoid copying your data to the new hard drive, you can set up the old hard drive as second hard drive (ie. slave drive), if you delete the redundant folders and leave only the data folders then you have an adddition 40Gb of disk space.

No operating system found

This is caused by :-
1. Your hard disk has failed.
2. Your BIOS settings for the hard drive has been altered
3. Your hard drive has been wiped or someone or a virus program that has deleted critical files.

Go into your BIOS setup to check the hard disk settings, if possible see if it will auto detect the hard drive.

Also boot up with a DOS disk run FDISK to see if you can detect a hard disk, partitions etc.

If the hard disk appears OK you may be able to do a disk repair, most likely you would need to re-install the operating system and the laptop drivers for video, audio, LAN, modem etc.
