This should do the trick...press star, call button(the green one), three, and power button all together while powering up your phone..press them until formatting comes out then you release them..note: don't release buttons until formatting does not appear....try and try until you succeed

My Nokia n72 phone fails to start up.it says contact the retailer.what should i do to fix this and im in ghana and i do not know the retailers number.pls help

This means, your phone software is corrupted due to some instances like full memory, system failure etc. .The only thing you can do is try to hard reset your phone.By doing this, follow this procedure.

Remember that there is no way to retrieve all of your data.because your phone system failed to start up.

Here is the procedure.

1. turn off your phone
2. remove battery
3. remove sim card
4. remove memory card then put the battery again.

5. press * (asterisk) , 3 (three) call button simultaneously then press POWER ON, (continue pressing the three given keys (you can release the power switch now) until the phone open and selecting the country (you can release the three keys now.)

If still on "Phone start up,contact the retailer",just repeat the procedure 3 times.

If does not work? need to reprogram the phone and it will be possible if you bring it to any mobile service shop near your location.

Hoping that this method works...Thank you for visiting Fixya.

Insert sim card

Alright, take out your sim card, grab an eraser, erase the gold contacts on your sim card and test it again.

If it fails, take out your battery, grab any small metal that you could stick on to the battery contact points, the gold ones, and scrub it. Just like cleaning the contacts.

Hope this helps...

If you ever tried debranding the phone youself and made a pigs ear of it, and your phone says " phone start up failed, contact the retailer" below is a way of reformatting the phone back to the original factory settings.

1 power the phone off,
2 press and keep down the keeys green/talk + '3' + '*', - power on the phone at the same time
3 release the keys when the formatting starts.

Phone start up failed

the operating software of your cell is corrupted..... so it is not switching on .. the operating software may be corrupted due to some virus attack this attack may be from pc or from another mobile from which you transferred some datas like songs etc...

i suggest you to visit technician and give you cell for flashing...
flashing is nothing but installing of new operating software to cell.. this can be done by using special DKU series cable........

after getting installed the new operating software dont forget to install an antivirus for your cell
