It sounds like it could be a loose connection. Try to wiggle wires in the vicinity of gas pedal or wires that run above pedals. It could be your foot is jiggling a loose wire that has been run above the pedals.

BMW cuts out while driving

My Ford did that, but only once. Engine died, backfired and I coasted to the curb. Restarted and ran fine. Sounds like you have a more severe problem. Scary!

Changed car battery and radio-code will not work to get radio back on. It's worked in the past. Any suggestions?

Hi Diane:
You will need to visit the Honda dealer to obtain it; the radio unlock code is unique for each VIN vehicle, so no one can be offered via Internet.

Simply present the vehicle's VIN to get it; sometimes you have to make any payment to the dealer to request this information.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

How can I bypass the starter in my car(manual trans) so it will start? I had the battery checked and it's fine.

  • If the engine cranks ("rrr-rrr-rrr") when you turn the key, then the problem isn't the starter or the battery.Plan to have at least one person sitting in the driver's seat and one or two persons pushing.Turn off all accessories (radio, wipers, lamps).Turn the key to the "on" position.Depress the clutch pedal with your foot.Put the transmission in first or second gear.Release the hand brake and the foot brake.Note that the people pushing need to get the car rolling as fast as they can. This works best down a hill or an incline.Release the clutch pedal while giving the engine a little gas with the gas pedal once the car is moving about as fast as you can run. The engine should start

Engine acts as though gas pedal is engage after taking foot off of gas pedal. Raved up very high. Little smoke came from engine. Engine stayed in high gear. After cutting off the car and restarting...

On a fuel injected vehicle, an Above-normal engine idle is commonly a sign of an intake vaccum leak allowing un-metered air into the engine...
However, the "Very high","little smoke" along with the low antifreeze and the fact that the vehicle will not stay running at an idle makes me suspect that engine damage may have occured, and if this is the case-There is no easy fix, this particular engine[should be a 4.6L] will be somewhat expensive to repair/replace...
Best recomendation is get into a reputable shop and explore your options with them...

Have 2003 monte carlo aux input cutting out

If the radio itself works all the time then you probably have a bad connection between the aux device and the radio. It could be a cable, or it could be the jack. Depending on that it is in easy fix or a harder one. You can take it to a place that installs car stereo equipment and have them look at it or just tackle it yourself. If you put in an aftermarket radio you will need a wiring harness and possibly an antenna adapter. Sometimes you need other things that interface between the car and the harness as well such as controls for steering wheel remotes and other special items.

This is a very common problem for ford. I have the same thing every day. It is the computer not reading the temp. When it does that just tap the gas pedal.
