Downloadable windowsxp boot disc winxp setup process

Windows XP Professional

Windows XP Professional SP2
Step 2: Run the Setup disk program to create the Setup disks

When you download the Setup disks, the download contains only one large program file. When you run the downloaded file, it extracts the files. You receive the following message:

This program creates the Setup boot disks for Windows XP. To create these disks, you need to provide 6 blank, formatted, high-density disks.

Please specify the floppy drive to copy the images to:

Type the drive letter for the floppy disk drive (this is typically drive A). After you type the floppy disk drive letter, you receive the following message:

Insert one of these disks into drive drive letter:. This disk will become the Windows XP Setup Boot Disk.

Press any key when you are ready.

When you press a key, the downloaded file starts to extract and copy the files. Continue to insert the blank disks as you are prompted to do this until all six disks are created. If the process is interrupted, you must run the downloaded program file again to create all six disks.

Make sure that you label each disk appropriately with the number that is specified by the program. You must use the disks in the correct order during the Setup process.

Step 3: Start your computer by using the first Setup disk to begin a new Windows XP installation

After you create all six disks, insert the first disk in the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer. The computer must be configured to start from the floppy disk drive. You may have to modify the BIOS settings on your computer to do this.

The Setup process starts. Insert the other floppy disks when you are prompted. You must use the Windows XP CD-ROM to finish the Setup process.

hope it helps

Installed a n68s mobo with a amd x2 550 CPU. Every turns o n except VGA mouse and keyboard

You should have a disk that came with the mobo. You will need to install the drivers for all of the onboard devices to function properly. If you have already done this, You will need to access th BIOS Setup utility (usually by pressing the F1 key while booting, although your mobo may use a different key) and make sure that you have all of the devices enabled in the setup. This should solve your troubles!

Cannot install parallel to USB printer cable.

I can only really offer a suggestion. But try unplugging the adapter with your pc off. Turn the pc back on insert the disk. Then turn the printer on and try plugging the adapter back in. If your adapter/printer are working you should receive a request to add new hardware. From this point you should be able to have it "search for the best driver for your device." If this doesn't work you may be looking about a bad adapter and or unresponsive printer. also try using a different usb port.

this i presume is a lexmark x85
i presume you have windows xp or vista on your computer

if you have not tried windows setup wizard to install the scanner please do so .if its not listed or found then either go to where you can signup for free and download a few drivers for free or go directly to lexmark

alternatively you could email a seller of an x85 at an online shop/auction site like this link and maybe the guy might be able to email you the files needed

hope this helps.haemox

Printer driver not working

Hi there, i dont know if this is of any relevence however, i have just spent the whole afternoon trying to install my new printer, every time i installed my disk a little icon popped up saying usb didnt recognise the device, despite endless frustration i did it another way, If your printer is a usb connection then before inserting the disk connect the printer to the computer and switch on, this then brings up the wizzard which should help you install, if this doesnt me it took me ages, try different usb ports, i finally found one that picked up the printer, after it detected the device i was then able to continue with instalation via the disk and wohoo many hours later i have a printer, unfortunatley i have now run out of paper doh!!! i hope this helps someone :-)

Locate a file towards the Bottom, installshield Wizard Or setup.exe. or similar, try launching the program from there.
If it does,nt work, or still gives you incompatability warnings, Try START/RUN/DRIVE D:- E:- et,c setup.exe.
If none of the above work, contact hewlett packard customer services for an updated driver, via thier website.
