You may have a faulty regulator or worn burners!

My laptop seems to be getting way too hot. Has never done that before. On the left side where the vents are. maybe the fan in it isn't working? what do I need to do to it?

Find a flashlight or take it outside turn it over and turn the power on look through the vent holes on the bottom to see if the fan is spinning. If it is spinning your heat sink is plugged full of lent, hair, dust, debris. As a quick kinda self fix you can try to blow some compressed air through the vents, blow through the vents on the bottom first then the vent on the side. Keep alternating back and fourth until you can't notice any debris, or dust blowing out. It might be quite dirty so you might want to step outside and do this. Also if you are worried about damaging your fan you might take the battery out of the laptop and use a paper clip or better yet a zip tie, or a plastic bread tie, to stop the fan from spinning to fast and damaging it. After that put the battery back in and power it up, hope this helps at least make it run a little cooler. You don't want to use it with it running hot very long or you risk causing damage to the solder joints on the motherboard.

Power inverters can do this if they are internally shorted or they are being over loaded. If you are just using it to charge a phone or a computer it should not be over loaded. Now if you are charging a computer and running a small cooler at the same time, that may be real close to max which may blow a fuse. Have you tried hooking it straight to the battery to see if it will run what ever you are running. It has it's own fuse so if it has an internal short it will blow that fuse. It if works hooked to the battery and is just blowing the cig lighter or acc. fuse it can be a weak socket. If the socket is hot it may have a loose wire on the back side causing low voltage which can blow a fuse. So hook it to the battery direct, if it works ok there, reconnect it to your acc port and if it is getting hot it may be the weak socket. If it will not run hooked to the battery, it has an internal short and it would be better to buy new than try and fix. Sorry.

The machine won't power up. The green light on the PS flashes. What does this mean? If I disconnect the large plug from the mother board the green light will come on steady. Plugging it into the mother...

Can you tell if the flashing is a pattern. count the flashes ( long and short) in a cycle. This will provide an error code to hopefully discover the problem.
You may also try removing and reseating the RAM and Video card, blowing out the connectors with compressed air before reseating.. Also look closely at the components on MB for any signs of swelling, leaking, burning etc. I suspect the MB.

Asus netbook ac power cord adapter stopped blue light on...not charging computer...what to do and need new one?

You need a replacement AC adapter, it's very cheap online.
1)Output Voltage is within +/- 5% of your old charger's output.
2) Output Current is the same or higher than that of your old charger.
3) Connector tip must fit securely into your laptop.

When power on , shorting in power starter stage and mosfet come to short.

Check for dust build up static charge can jump on dust and cause a short. Keep it clean if powering down or just keep it on you will have less problems. That's why companies leave comp on startup cause shorts

Bestec ATX-250-12E problems

Hi the power supply fan is jammed because of some object stuck - this could be some broken plastic component of the fan or the protection grill could be jamming it . Do not switch your comp before checking this out because inadequate or no air cooling can damage your computer .In Power off condition with a small screw driver try rotating the fan manually or by blowing air into the fan , it should spin smoothly else your power supply to be replaced .

Computer won't stay powered on

What type of computer is it? Manufacture/partnumber...Your associates are incorrect, it is actually better to leave it on because turning it on and off is harder on a computer. This also depends upon your environment (dust, dirt, moisture, etc.) Companies all around the world leave computer systems up for years, only to shut them down when a part needs repalaced or windows requires a reboot.
