Question about Canon PIXMA MP210 Photo All-In-One Printer

Ink levels monitoring

I have replaced cartridges in Pixma 210 but the monitor says they are still empty. Am using Xprint not Canon originals. Is this the problem?

Thanks

I have just refilled my original cartridges with ink and replaced them in the printer only to find that the low warning lights are still on. Guess Canon don't want me to do this. Is there a way to turn off the warning lights or even better can I reset the printer so show full cartridges.

I have a canon mg5320 printer. I just filled 4 of yhe 5 cartridges but it still shows them almost empty, what can I do?

This is perfectly normal. Your printer has no idea you filled the cartridges. Keep using the printer - until it stops with 'ink out' error, then press the 'OK' button (on printer) momentarily. If that clears the error, you can resume printing.
If pressing OK doesn't do anything, press and HOLD the 'STOP' button for about 6 seconds - or until the error clears. This will disable the ink monitor - for the 'empty' cartridge.
You will have to repeat same process for each cartridge that turns 'empty'. Once all cartridges are disabled, you don't have to do anything - except keep refilling the ink.

Pixma mg3150 ink there but showing as empty

When using replacement or refill, Canon software will not detect them as new or filled with ink. Original cartridges have chips programmed with "counters" which determines how many times it could print. As long as it is printing, it is not really a problem just press the resume button.

Reset ink level on canon mg2120 after ink refill

The following procedures may be used to reset the Canon printer ink level monitoring following the installation of a refilled Canon 30, 31, 40, 41, 50, 51, 210, 211, 240, or 241 integrated ink cartridges. In most cases, the error/alert will need to be cleared to enable printing. Ink waste container reset procedures are also provided below.
NOTE: for multi-cartridge installation, the procedure(s) may need to be repeated twice.

For PGI-5, PGI-9PBK, CLI-8, PGI-220 CLI-221 PGI-225 CLI-226 PGI-250 CLI-251 Cartridges: These are new Canon cartridges which have an embedded chip on each cartridge. If you just refill the ink, the printer will still reads the cartridge as empty. You have two choices:

Purchase a "refillable cartridge" from www.asapinkjets.com
BCH or other sellers. These refillable cartridges have an auto-reset chip (non OEM) and will reset automatically.
Use a chip resetter (e.g., search Canon + model number + resetter on eBay). Follow the instruction below to refill your original cartridge, and use the resetter to reset the chip.

I want to use the scanner on my mp600, but my black #5 cartridge is out and I cant get off that display screen to scan to my computer. I dont want to print, just scan and save. Please help

After the printer decides the cartridge is empty it will start giving you warnings. Eventually it will give you a message to press the Stop/Reset switch for approx. 5 seconds to disable ink level monitoring on the empty cartridge. Ink level monitoring will be re enabled if a new OEM Canon cartridge is installed.
Hope this helps, thank you for posting. Have a nice day.

I have refilled my main black ink cartridge on my canon pixma ip 3600, my printer won't acknowledge the refilled cartridge, is there anything I can do about this?

This is because the ink cartridges has a memory chip.It monitor ink levels.Press and hold the resume button for 5 seconds. This operation releases the function for detecting the remaining ink level of the above ink.The printer shows empty cartridges but it will printing.

I HAVE A PINTER PIXMA 1600- WITH NEW CARTRIDGE, BUT THE PRINTER TELL ME THAT NOT RECOGNIZED THE INK CARTRIDGE AND SHOW ME SERVICE ERROR 5600. WHAT CAN I DO ?

A few basic causes.

1. The cartridges you bought were not original equipment ones (OEM)and many "clone" cartridges are known to have problems with the ink level chips

Take them back and get them replaced with a different brand

2. They are original cartridges but may still be faulty (rare but possible)

Take them back and get them replaced

3. Your print head is clogged or faulty

Run your printer through the head cleaning process a few times and see if it clears up.

4 your cartridges are out of alignment

run the cartridge alignment process

If you are filling them yourself then...

Cartridge ink levels are usually monitored by a small chip on the cartridge. If that cartridge is allowed to fall below 25% ink level most chips then become locked and not able to re-set.

For many cartridges you can buy a reset device to reset chips that have not become locked. Or you could buy empty cartridges that don't need resetting and that will always accept a self refill.

Ink Monitoring System

I have this Canon MP600 using unchipped cartridges. Once you have changed the chip over onto the catridge and inseted it should stop flashing which indicates the cartridge is located. The printer will not tell you the level of ink until you run out. When changing the chip over from original cartridge onto unchipped ensure it is not damaged and fitting properly other wise the error sign will show. The printer should print without any problems, i know you can not disable the ink monitoring system. Hope this is some help Mr T

YOU NEED TO DISABLE THE INK LEVEL MONITORS AFTER RE-FILLING THE CARTRIDGES. GO TO PROPERTIES, MAINTENANCE, VIEW PRINTER STATUS, OPTION AND CLICK ENABLE STATUS MONITOR ONCE. Also check to make sure that if you have only one cartridge that you go printer settings/maintenance/ink settings change to cartridge you will be using black or color.
Both of the cartridges have to be in there whether one is empty or not. Then turn off wait a few seconds then turn it back on. This worked for me. I hope is works for you.

Ink carriage will not stop at centre to allow change of ink cartridges

hi star

Try this

After the printer decides the cartridge is empty it will start giving you warnings. Eventually it will give you a message to press the Stop/Reset switch for approx. 5 seconds to disable ink level monitoring on the empty cartridge. Ink level monitoring will be re enabled if a new OEM Canon cartridge is installed. There is no way to reset the chip on the cartridge but you can replace for new ink

oke
