Just to expand on the excellent advice from woodchuckie - I had the same problem and these are the steps I took to resolve.
1) Remove the back panel. There are about 7 screws to undo.
2) The drain tube is towards the middle about 3/4 inch in diameter.
3) Remove the tube. I found a little black rubber 'flute' which I have now removed as I think this was causing some back pressure. Make sure the tube is clean and free from dusty gunk. Mine was anyway hence the removal of the flute.
4) Remove everything from the lower 2/3s of the freezer compartment. Remove the screws (some are covered by white caps) there are about six. You must remove all the screws up to the place where the top panel starts.
5) The back panel may be frozen in place. From a standing position reach down and grab the protruding plastic - pull up and out. The panel should loosen. Turn it sideways to remove it.
6) You should now see the freezer matrix and the frost free heater pipes at the bottom. If your like me you will see a block of ice at the bottom!!
7) I took a hair dryer (carfull of the water/electricity hazzard) and melted the ice (also be careful about melting the plastic of the freezer!! doh).
8) With a sponge remove the loose water.
9) The drain is in the middle and is difficult to get to.
10) I took a screw driver to the hole and jabbed at it.
11) Boil a kettle and fill the shallow tray around the drain. If your lucky the water will work through quickly and you'll hear it falling into the evaporation tray. If not then keep sponging the water out and replacing with boiling water (and have a few more jabs with a screwdriver!). Keep working it untill you have success.
12) Ensure that the interior of the freezer is dry ( I blew some air from the hair dryer through the drain and got someone on the drain at the back to confirm they could feel it coming through.
13) Replace all the plastics, back panel and screws. Put everything back in the freezer, plug it back in and set it to power freeze.

The whole thing took about 45mins - 1 hour.
Hope this helps.

Your drain tube must be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Samsung RL38 leaking

You are most likely correct about the blockage of the defrost drain. The formation of alga can form a globular mass and restrict water draining. Full strength Clorox bleach will instantly destroy the alga bacteria and dissolve the blockage. Unplug the refrigerator and remove the foodstuff from the freezer. Pour about a cup full of bleach along the back side of the freezer compartment. The liquid bleach will migrate into the drain channels and attack the blockage. The bleach odor wit quickly dissipates and it is not hazardous.

When i close the door on the freezer side the water trickles down the front panel

This could be a leaking water valve. First thing I would suggest is to turn the water supply off under the sink or behind fridge wherever its located and see if the leaking stops. If so then you'll need to replace the water valve on fridge. If this doesn't work look up inside the ice chute on front of door and make sure the flapper is closing all the way when you get ice. Warm air coming up into freezer because the flapper is not sealing tight can cause water to run down front of fridge. If this is the case there is usually frost buildup on the ice chute on the inside of door.

The freezer leaks water and the fridge is 43 degrees and full of condensation on the inside

Hi,
Most times this is a plugged defrost drain system. The defrost heater in the freezer section melts the frost and changes it to water, this water is suppose to flow down a drain system. If this drain system is restricted or plugged the water will leak inside the refrigerator. The drain system starts in the freezer section with a tray built under the evaporator coil. The water is funneled through a small hose into a cup in the top middle of the fresh food section ( not on all models, but this is the most common way ), from there, the water is directed out the back wall to a drain hose that runs down the back of the refrigerator into a condensing tray. The heat created under the fridge makes the water evaporate and disappear. Some of the cups ( in the top back of the fresh food section ) can be removed for cleaning. A turkey baster can be used to help clean out the drain system. Fill the baster with hot water and "blast" it into the drain hose to help flush it out. A piece of wire or pipe cleaner can also be pushed into the drain hoses to help clean then out. On a S x S style of fridge the drain system is in the bottom back of the freezer section and often you will have to remove the evaporator cover to access the drain hole. You can clean this out in the same manner as previously mentioned, but because of the water leaking into the freezer instead of the fresh food section you will have to remove the ice build up to clean out the drain system. For some reason Whirlpool has found a need to "hide" the drain hose inside the walls now. This makes accessing the drain hose to flush it out more difficult, no cup inside the fresh food section, no hose down the outside back wall and the only access is inside the freezer section behind the back false wall and under the evaporator coils.

Hope this works...............

Hi

Some leaking water refrigerator helps....

  1. My older style Amana freezer on top refrigerator is leaking inside
  2. My refrigerator is leaking water inside
  3. My refrigerator is leaking water onto the floor
My refrigerator is leaking water inside the fridge:

Most times this is a plugged defrost drain system. The defrost heater in the freezer section melts the frost and changes it to water, this water is suppose to flow down a drain system. If this drain system is restricted or plugged the water will leak inside the refrigerator. The drain system starts in the freezer section with a tray built under the evaporator coil. For some reason Whirlpool has found a need to "hide" the drain hose inside the walls now ( Whirlpool makes many of the Kenmore branded refrigerators ) on there top freezer refrigerators. This makes accessing the drain hose to flush it out more difficult, no cup inside the fresh food section, no hose down the outside back wall and the only access is inside the freezer section behind the back false wall and under the evaporator coils.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Samsung fridge filter leaking

HI,

your drain is clogged.you may have a catch for your drain where you see leak coming from.that may pull off and you can see if their is trash build up in it.you are going to need to take the panel off the back of freezer.inside back of freezer you will see screws.they will need to come out,if you have ice maker that will need to be removed also.once back panel is off you will see your coils, beneath the coils it will most likely have a sheet of ice.tturn machine off and take a hair dryer and defrost the ice.once ice is gone take a cup of hot water and run thru drain to see if unclogged.repeat if drain is not clear.the ice in drain tube will eventually unclog.I use a steamer.much quicker.

thanks,

Water leak

probably the defrost drain blocked. remove back panel from inside freezer and melt ice off with hairdryer and follow up with hot water till water flows away freely.
you may find all the pipework iced up and if so you have a problem with defrost system.
an alternative way is to switch off for 24 hours and leave doors open

SAMSUNG RS20CCMS AMERICAN STYLE FRIDGE FREEZER

in the freezer section there is a 6 screws. unscrew them and remove the back panel. there will be 2 wires attached to the panels, remember where they go. you will see a metal evaporator which will be filled with ice. this is the problem. use a hairdryer to melt the ice. this is essential as you mustn't puncture the wall of the fridge with any sharp item. before replacing the panel ensure that everything is dry or ice will reform, and also ensure that the fan blades are turning properly or cold air will not be blown into the fridge.
