Question about PC Laptops

Enling cookies hi, my compute will not let me access my bank account and keeps saying that the cookies are disabled and offers advice how to enable them. I follow the instructions, Control Panel, Internet Options, etc. go to Security tab and change the settings, to allow third-party cookies. I restarted PC and it still comes up with the message that the cookies are disabled. I've tried in a couple in Internet Options to change to enable cookies but it still won't work. When I first got my PC it worked fine but this has occurred since the computer downloaded updates, but hasn't worked since. I have Windows Vista. Your help would be very much appreciated! Regards, Judi

Re: enling cookies

Instead of enabling cookies, try to add the site to the "List of Trusted Sites".

Go to Tools->options in internet explorer
Go to the Security tab
Click on "trusted sites"
click on the Sites... button
Add the website to the list
You may need to uncheck the "require https://" checkbox.

Re: enling cookies

You are infected maybe by a virus, please scan your system with a potent antivirus, if u r sure that system is a virus free, you uninstall the internet explorer and restart the computer after restating reinstall the ie. , if all of this did not work for you, rather suggest you to use another internet browser such as mozilla firefox.

On the other hand since your system is infected with some virus and spyware i would rather suggest you to backup all your important files and format and reinstall the windows for your safety banking activity.

Magicjack problems

What browser are you using? This message usually means that you have enabled the Private Browsing feature or otherwise disabled cookies. Assuming you do not have a cookie-blocking extension (NoScript in Firefox), follow the directions below for enabling cookies in the common Windows browsers.

For IE (in the desktop for Windows 8) to change the permissions for Cookies: click on the Gear symbol on the line with the URL bar. (Alternatively if you have the Menu toolbar visible (press Alt to get this visible) then click on Tools. Select Internet Options. Go to the Privacy tab and reduce the privacy setting to Medium. Click Apply and then OK and then close your browser and reopen it. Then go to the MagicJack site. If that doesn't work, check if the Tracking Protection is enabled. Click on the Gear and then Safety. Go to turn on Tracking Protection. In the new window, check if MagicJack is listed. (The key sequence <Control>+<Shift>+P turns on the Private Browsing feature. It should be disabled when you close and restart the browser.)

In Firefox to change the cookie permissions, click on Tools and select Options. Click on the Privacy icon. In the History section, you need to set that to Custom. Then you can enable or disable cookies. Click OK. Close the Options window then restart your browser. Make sure that Always use Private Browsing is not checked.

For Chrome, click on Menu icon (the icon with three horizontal lines) on the URL bar. Click on Settings and then select the Advanced link. Then under Privacy, click on the Content Settings button. Make sure either of the first two options for cookies are checked. Click Done and restart the browser.

I hope this helps.

Why is it suddenly so difficult for me to logon to my personal bank account online when in the past I got there in a flash? Now, I am asked a load of damn-fool questions and offered numerous things I don't...

Hi Christopher,
My bank is doing the same thing now. With ID theft being rampant, most banks are resorting to these measures to keep ID thieves from easily getting to your account. I know what you mean about all the questions....It's just a hassle I know. My bank has started implementing a mandatory Password Change every 60 days.
I hope this answers your question.

I cannot log into my online banking because it says I have to enable cookies but when I go to internet options then privacy and so forth it still doesn't allow me to. I have a new acer aspire one book

Hello tkinnebrew65,
Does this happen with every browser? What did you do exactly in options though? In firefox when you go to the privacy tab just make sure it is selected on remember history. This will have no restrictions. If your using chrome, click the wrench tool and go to options. Go to under the hood then select content settings. Select allow local data to be set (recommended). Just to be on the safe side, clear your history, clear your cache, and cookies. restart your browser and try online banking. If it still occurs, disable your computer security just for temporary. I hope this helps, good luck.

Cant get into my yahoo email to read an cant acses my password

Thank you for using FixYa
There could be a number of reasons for this problem in Yahoo.
Get out of your browser and go back in again.
Be sure you have cookies enabled in your browser.
Click on the button that says 'forgot password' and they will give you key words to gain access.
Sometimes it is a temporary glitch and may correct itself in a few hours.
Sometimes there is a security breach of some sort and they will close your account.
Go into Yahoo and search help, account, and follow the instructions.
keep in mind, the only source for gaining access to Yahoo, is Yahoo and no one else has your password unless they have stolen it.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

Cant check my emails keeps saying cookies required

You have probably disabled cookies. Add the email provider's website as a "trusted" website.
In Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > Sites Enter the URL of the site, and then click the "Allow" button.

Goto tools in internet explorer and choose internet options, click on the advanced tab, scroll down to where it says "enable third party browser extensions" check the box to the side and click apply then close out of that window and try accesing the sites that give you those error messages. if still the same post back.thanks.

Emachines laptop XP setup cannot access HDD

Hi there.

Now, turn on your friends laptop, and access the BIOS/Setup menu. Have a look through the options, find the one that says something like Boot Virus Protection. Disable it. You can't install any operating system if this is Enabled. Then look for the Boot Priority or Boot Devices option. Change this, so it boots from CD-ROM first. Then try to install XP again.

Let me know if this works.
