Question about HP C7438A (Refurbished) DAT Tape Drive
I am using HP C7438A Tape drive to backingup my data. When i am moving the data to tape drive it giving me the following error.
/dev/st0: Cannot open: Input/output error
And also i am new to work with tape drives. Could you give the command to check whether the tape drive is detecting by OS. I am using redhatlinux.
Just the fact that /dev/st0 exists indicates that the OS sees the tape drive. When you say you are "moving the data to tape drive" just how are you doing this? Have you read the dump man page?
