Question about Nokia 5300 Grey Cellular Phone
I've had my Nokia 5300 about 5 months, and recently subscribed to Yahoo! Music Unlimited (To Go). Before I began using the Yahoo Music Jukebox to put music on the phone (I would drag and drop from PC to phone) everything worked fine. Now that I have used Yahoo Jukebox to transfer music files (.wma, because that's the only thing Yahoo provides), I am having difficulties with the music player. Key response time has become very slow (starting the music player, play/pause button, even skipping to next song), and tonight the phone kept turning off during file transfers. Getting to the music files via the gallery menu is no better. The music files are on my 1G memory card (Nokia branded, came with phone). The card is not filled to capacity.
I did try alternate methods of file transfer - drag and drop, also Nokia's PCSuite; sadly, it seems the damage has been done.
I'm probably going to take the phone to the shop this weekend, but I was hoping someone here might have an idea?
Let me know if more info is needed, I'll provide what I can.
Hey there. you have only had it for 5 months which is good you found the problem. you should have a 12 month waranty with your provider so it can be sent back to nokia and everything fixed for free as long as there is no physical damage other wise you will have to pay! they should tell you instore. it sounds like you have a software issue so they need to put new software on there which they will. you will be without a phone for a while but they may give you a loan phone for the meantime.(turning on/off means software issue)
the way you were transfering it with the drag to phone icon is correct!
the only thing before you take it back to get fixed you must save all contacts photos/ files etc because they will all be lost! its getting everything back to square one!! take out the memory card before you give it back! they might flog it! and the sim of course, also take your paper work if you can find it. from when you signed up with the phone. have imei number on thier for warranty purposes. if not they should be able to obtain it for you.
hope i helped thanks
