ok, i doubt that there's problem in your mother since it display well in the external monitor?! if you have unidentified device in the system then maybe you should install the enclosed driver of the LCD to eliminate the unidentified device in the system.

The driver is enclosed in your system from the vendor, otherwise if you non then you go to the manufacuter's website and search a support driver.

Print screen on panasonic CF-53 toughbook

On any Panasonic Toughbook, when you press
"Shift" and "PrtSc" then this should capture whatever was
on the screen of your laptop.

This is usually a JPG picture. To see what it captured,
open the "Paint" program which is located under All Programs and Accessories.

When "Paint" is opened then click once in the blank portion of the screen, then click on "Edit" and then "Paste".

A shortcut is to use "CTRL" and "V"

You can now save the captured screen shot as an image.

That is it. Good Luck and Best Regads from:

I have a CF-30 toughbook and my screen lights up for about 4 seconds and then goes dark everytime I open the the lid. I can see the screen is still on but not lit up, it will relight if I close the screen...

It could be loose wiring.

1. Take the screen bezel and LCD board off and reseat all the connections. In other words, unplug and plug it in again.

How to: CF-30 toughbook LCD replacement video

2. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you must replace the LCD inverter.

Toughbook LCD is Dark.

On all Panasonic Toughbooks, any model pre-2008/2009 would have the older LCD screen with an "inverter". The new screens are called LED because there is no inverter.
The inverter is like the "ballast" on a fluorescent tube lighting fixture. The tube could be good but if the ballast is blown then the tube will not "light-up". This is also true of the inverter.
You can also tell when the inverter is about to burn-out when you first start your toughbook in the morning and the screen is initially "red" and then turns white after the unit warms-up for a few minutes.
Good Luck to you.
