How do I get the headphones to work, when plugged into the DVD Player?
The sound will only come out over the speakers and we get no sound out of the headphones. Is there a special button or something we are not pushing? Please help.
I have a 2005 f-150 and it was bought used, no wireless headsets and remote but i learned if you push buttons 2 and 4 together on the cddeck you can use the radio through the speakers and the kids in the back can used the headphone jacks to listen to the dvd player.

OK....Pull the dvd player out. Look to see if it has speaker wires coming off the back. If not, does it have rca plugs???? (red and white). if so then you are gonna need an amplifier to get sound. If it DOES hve speaker wires, chec to see if they are hooked up to the speakers in the vehicle.
Let me make sure I understand this. When you have a DVD play in English, you get a buzzing noise in your wireless headphones. But if it plays in Spanish, it sounds fine?
Does this occur with every DVD, or just a certain DVD?
Have you tried listening to it without the headphones - using car speakers. If so, did you have the same problem?
If you can answer those questions for me, I can try to figure out what's wrong here.
Some dealers installed a modulator for the radio; look under your driver's side dash to see if there is a small on/off toggle switch. If there is, flip it 'on', tune the radio to 89.1 and you should get audio.
If they haven't installed this, no problem. You can buy a modulator from most electronic stores that is used to play MP3 players through the car stereo; instead of an MP3 player, simply plug the cable into the headphone jack of your DVD player.
As far as i know, all Rosen in-car dvd players come with IR (infra-red) headphones so the sound is transmitted that way rather than using a lead from the headphones to the unit, therfore no sockets are neccessary!
Hope this helps....
We have a GMC Envoy which also does not allow us to play the sound from the dvd player through the car's speakers. Although we purchased the vehicle new with the dvd player already installed, it was installed by the dealer, making it after-market. I assume those that were installed in the factory work differently. Maybe this is the case with your's as well. Good luck!!
turn off the dual audio..by pushing the 3 and 5 button on the radio unitwhere the small headphone light on the radio is off and you should get dvd sound on the radio....that puts it in single mode not dual mode..also play with the mode button on the back of the center console ...
