I have a pioneer rear projection tv PRO710HD, a few days ago it started to show a double picture, with the background picture in a blue concave like shape, I've try to realign the colors with the remote, and this did not do much good; I open the front panel and try adjusting with the knobs and still

haven't been able to correct this problem. Please someone give me some

    advice. thaks.

The alignment you need to do to realign your TV is called "setting the convergence". All projection TV's have 3 color guns (one red, one blue and one green). When you move a TV or josstle it, these guns can get misaligned and need realignment. This is definitely something an average user can do (you don't need a TV repair man to do it for you). It is a very simple procedure (most TV's have an option in the menu to do this, just look for convergence adjustment). What you want to do is use the remote to get all 3 colors to overlap completely (you can only move one color at a time). Some TV's have squares on the screen that you must align, others have plus signs. If you can't find it in the menu on your TV or if you can't figure it out on your own, you can look for a manual at Hitachi's website that will walk you throught the process for your TV.

Hi, this is a common problem for rear projection TV. You definitely need a TV person to do it but might cost you more than expected and it might happen again if you move TV to another place. otherwise buy another TV, rear projection TV is not good investment at all. please dont forget your rating

We recently moved the tv and now when we turn it on it has double vision. It kinda looks like a 3d movie. What could be the issue? Is it worth fixing?

Hi,
If tv picture was fine before moved then check dry/ cold solder joints/ connections on convergence output ICs and nearby circuit area.
Local tv repairman will resolder loose/ dry solder connections to solve double vision picture problem.
TV worth fixing if picture is good.
Thanks.

I HAVE A DOUBLE VISION, BETWEEN THE GREEN AND RED, THE GREEN IS SOMEWHAT WARPED OR ARCHED.

Hi,
Please run the convergence feature on your TV. Its giving you double image because the red, green, and blue guns are disaligned. By running convergence it will realign the guns properly. You need to run the convergence feature at least once a week. Please note this is only for CRT rear projection TV's and I assumed it was. If it is an LCD rear projection, then there's nothing you can do to fix such thing, but call a repair person. But if doing the convergence doesn't fix the problem, you need to call a repair person. But I hope you won't have to. Please refer to your TV's manual on how to do convergence and how to overlap the crosses because every CRT projection TV is different.
Good luck!

60 in toshiba projection tv problem

Your list under Projection so if that's what you have then it is not magnetized. You have inadvertently unplugged or moved the centering rings on the CRT's. If you did I would call a Service Co. to straighten them out.
Go over and re track every step and see if you un plugged a connector for the convergence. Each one of the tubes will have leads going down to the convergence board.

Screen is starting to look as if it has double vision

rear projection is just that usually 3 projectors overlayed ontop of each other each in a different color. one or more of your projectors needs to be aligned, there is an option in the set up to do this manually where x's or +'s are displayed in the different colors and you need to move them so they are all overlayed ontop of each other. then when a picture of a person is projected you should only see one of them. how to get to that set up screen to preform the alighnment will differ from brand and model but all projection tvs have this some have a program to do it automatically. this works great when the tv is new but as they age manually adjusting is better nothing is as delicate as the human touch.

Double vision

The double vision is from bad convergance ic's and posibly some support resistors or pico fuses. if you are not an electronics tech I suggest to have one do it. the ICs can range from $45.00 to $60.00 each and is suggested to replace both of them. some mitsies had one IC which I cant remember how much it was. tech charges vary. some prices may be $150.00 to $300.00 shop around.

Double vision on my samsung HDTV 1080i

Replace the convergence ICs. you will need two of them. They are located on a large aluminum heat sink with STK numbers. They cost about 10.00 each. They need to be soldered in. Its an easy repair if you can solder. Let me know if you need any additional info.

First thing to do is go to http://www.servicemanuals.net and get the service manual, as if you dont adjust these things in the proper order, it will never alighn or it will take you hours on end, because most of the time, when you move one thing, it affects the other alighnment, so if you do it off the cuff your having to do one, go back touch up another and may need to redo the same alighnment a hunderd times!~! See my point? Now if one section is not responding to the ajustment, or all of a suddenly the adjustments went out, and you try to adjust them, STOP! The alighnments may drift a little over the sets lifetime, but never will they go out drastacly, unless the convergence IC's go bad. They are the black rectangle IC's that start with STK and are mounted onto stand up metal heat sinks. If your not a tech or know the safty issues with a TV set, please call out a trained service person to assist you with this repair.
