Go to canon's website navigate to its download page for camcorders, then plug in information about your operating system and download the new driver for Vista. Restart your computer, plug in cable and camcorder. Should work.

Additionally if you want clean up your registry, use free Eusing registry fixer to fix most problems. It is a stable product.

I have a Canon elura 100 camcorder miniDV it has was everyone tells me is a firewire cable to connect to my pc. I have several pc and laptops but not one has a connection to connect this cable to them. ...

Most Windows PCs have USB ports, but no Firewire port. As they do not come with this interface, you need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card into one of the PCI bus expansion slots. You can buy these cards cheaply from eBay or Amazon. They will come with a driver for the card.

Of course, this only works with desktop computers, laptops or notebooks cannot be expanded in this way.

What cable is required to download the recorded video on tape?

To download from the tape (not the memory card) you need a firewire cable, and a computer that has firewire compatibility. Most laptops have this, but desktops may require a firewire card to be installed.

Sony dcr-trv30 touble downloadine to pc

You don't say how you are connecting the camera to the PC. The only way to download video in AVI quality is thru the Firewire (IEEE1394) connector. You can download composite video using the A/V connector if your computer does not have a Firewire port, but you will have to have a capture card on the computer to input the video to. In either case, you will need software that facilitates video capture, such as Pinnacle Studio or Roxio EZ DVD Creator. The USB connector is only for downloading still pictures if your computer doesn't have media chip slots.
Hope this helps.

How to get my PC recognize the Panasonic NV-GS15

Solution A: make sure you are using the correct cable for what you are doing (eg USB for webcam and importing photos and Firewire for transferring video footage

most desktops have firewire plug in them but laptops don't usually

to get a firewire plug in a laptop you need a PCMCIA to Firewire Cardbus (ask your local retail store for one or buy one on ebay etc.)

after that put the cardbus in your PCMCIA slot and restart

then go to Windows Movie Maker and press "capture from video device"

hope this helps!

Sony HC40 - Burn DVD w/o Sony PC

Don't worry about the manual. You just need to get a firewire cable (since you have a laptop, you probably need a 4 pin to 4 pin cable, but check the port in your laptop to make sure it is a 4 pin. If the port size is the same as it is in your camcorder, you need a 4pin to 4pin cable). For transferring video to your laptop and burning DVD, use the software which came with your DVD burner. If you do not have one, try Dazzle software, it works well.
