The dryer just stopped heating. Rest of dryer works well and it was fine earlier today. I have pulled it out to make sure nothing was blocking the flow of air from the dyrer and checked the gas line. Don't know if this would be some sort of heating element or how I can tell exactly what is wrong with it and it it would make just as much sense to replace the complete dryer - guessing about 7 years old.
Hello there Here are some ideas that may help you - Things that could stop a gas
dryer from heating: - glow bar igniter, thermal
fuse ( not all models ), coils on the
gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor
heat switch, timer, selector switch,
sensor. On the back of the dryer
near the fan blower housing is a thermal
fuse, if this opens up ( no continuity
) the gas burner often quits but the motor will still run. If the thermal fuse
is open/bad, always clean, change, adjust the venting system and vent hood first
and clean out the dryers air ducts. Sometimes it is a good idea to replace the
operating thermostat at the same time. Thermal
fuse parts help link...on blower housing cover, can not be re-set, must be replaced
if is open (no continuity between pins). hope this is very helpful for you

Maybe the vents are clogged in the tubing area. If so the moister sensor will not let the unit heat at all at times. Once thoroughly cleaned it should work with all the new parts installed
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.
Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.
1. No power to the dryer Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.
2. Heating element A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

What you do is remove the rear dust cover. It could be the element located to the right, or it could very well be the Hi Limit mounted atop the heating element chamber.
Sounds like the heating element or coil is out, but it could also be the board to. At any rate, if your not getting any heat what so ever, its more than likely electrical and its best to take it in. If it gets some kind of heat, then you might try cleaning out your dryer vents really good, and also in the dryer. Hope this helps.
