ventilate message on machine, what steps do you take to ventilate?

  • iamwhatiam Aug 28, 2008

I read the many responses and suggestions. The mess
age I got after turning the Saeco Royal Professional coffee machine Is "ventilate" after it started to warm up. I have removed the water container, and tried to see if it appears to be a any leakage of water. none. I turned the machine off again, and then tried to use the menu to see if the machine can be turned on another way. none. Then , I turned it off , and then back on (minutes later), this time the message "ventilate" appears and the menu button does n't even display anything......... I tried to read the manual, no luck as to do about anything. The only reference to "ventilate" refers to the water pump being broken. Of course, reading through the maize of foreign lanuages, it is extremely difficult to read anything in a straightforward manner. I absolutely don't and can't afford a major repair expense. I am really anxious to know what other measures I can take short of slpending hundreds of dollars in repairs and the cost of the boiler itself. Even if I send it for repairs------ I am certain the repair shop will insist it needs a new boiler, pump in all, even if doesn't need it----- and then I would never know . Anyone, PLEASE let me know if there is a way to determine what the situation is, and IF I can do something different?????????

    Thanks jonnycole for your information,
I have run the hot water nossle untill the airlock clears. I heard it splatter but still nothing, but new message appears to addition of ventilate message, it's says descale, and ventilate, plus no water comes from the hot water nossle any more only steam.
It would be fantastic if you guys could help us on line, as we leave in the middle of the south pacific and it's quite complicated and expensive to send it overseas.
    Thanks you for your reply.

It means you have an airlock in the water system. It can occur when you refill the water tank also.
Quite often you can run the hot water nossle untill the airlock clears. You will hear it splatter and then it should be sweet to go.

Machine says Ventilate ?

You have run Hot Water ?

You cannot get steam ?

Still says Ventilate ?

Take the filter out of the tank and try running Hot Water again

Works like a charm now

New filter and descaler on order :)

My saeco royal has ventilate on the screen and is not working. what does this mean?

Hi That means the pump needs to be primed by running water through the wand. Push the water. You will hear the pump change tone when it primes and the light or message will disappear. If you have a restriction in the intake line the message will not go away. There is a flow meter inside the machine that measures water flow. If the flow meter does not spin when the pump is running, the computer thinks that the pump is not primed. Coffee grounds will get into the intake and restrict the flow meter. If you get a restriction in the water intake (below the water tank, on the machine) the pump may run and water comes out, but the flow meter does not create the jet of water to spin the turbine wheel to send impulses to the computer. You get the ventilate message. One thing to remember is when you are working on the water system (have the water tank off) do not fill the bean hopper and visa versa. Keep them covered when working on the other. Cross contamination will damage a machine fast

try to set the grinder to grind little more coarse, you have to make 2-3 cup to get the new settings to work.

To get off the ventilate you have to press the button for hot water and make a cup of water.

Hope this will help you.

Can you get water out of the machine by pushing the hot water button?

This is how you would remove the ventilate message in the first place, but if no water comes out then the machines electro-valve is not opening and you will not be able to remove the ventilate message. You will have to get the machine serviced.

I would also give descaling the machine a try before servicing the machine.

You need to push the hot water button on the machines panel to allow water to run out of the steam wand. After a few seconds the machines ventilate message should clear.

If this does not work, feel free to contact us on our website for more help.
