I have a roshan TV,I tried to change the channel this morning and FACTORY came up on the screen n now I can't change the channel r do anything onthe tv...rs17-8895m

The TV is now in Factory Mode [Service mode] state. You should release it, to normal state, to get normal picture. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.
NB: Please read and understand well, the instructions to enter the service mode, before you begin. Be very careful. Note how to "EXIT" the service mode; after entering and adjusting data. This is very important.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; (Exclude the model number), in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Tv word factory screen remove

What is the brand name to your TV? Your TV is now in service mode [factory mode] now. That is why, it shows the display 'Factory' on screen. You have to quit the service mode. Then only you can enter into its normal menu. But, entering and exiting factory mode/service mode, to different brand TVs will not be the same. Check this link. It has service mode entry and exit methods to many brand TVs. Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar, or, view it in 'Timeslide' option. Look for the service mode entry and exit method to your brand TV. You'll get details there.

Pt 53x54t reset to factory settings

To make it to factory settings, you have to enter its service mode option. Service mode window will be entirely different to that of normal window. Entering and exiting service mode to many brand televisions can be noted by this link. Pull up older posts there. Beware. Do not make any other adjustments there, other than factory reset. Changing data values, without knowing more about what will happen after that, is not recommended. It might even make the set inoperative to any more external commands, either by its front panel control or remote control, In fact, a dead waste set will be the result. Make sure to exit the service mode, after make a factory reset. For more details, check the link sited above. Read all instruction well before start.

My tv is changing channels it self

The memory IC to your TV is faulty. Check and replace it. This is an eight solder terminal IC, can be located very near to main system control IC. Even though physical size to this IC is so small, function to it in circuit, when the TV works is great. You must have thofough knowledge in electronics to do this work, because, you might have to enter its service mode option to do some adjustments. This work is very skilled one, as service mode option window, and normal user window are entirely different to each other. Adjusting wrong data value to service mode options might make the TV irreparable, and irresponsive.

It sounds to me like it's stuck in service mode. There is a button combination with the remote to return it to normal. I would call Vizio support and they should be able to help you.

I think it's a combination like [volume -], [channel -] and power but I could be wrong.

Have a philips tv and a home theatre system but the remote off the surround system just changes the tv settings. Its kind of frustrating when I want to watch a dvd! Do I have to assign a freq?

When you press a function key on the remote control, not only does it change the function on the system (eg DISC, TUNER, TV etc) but it also changes the function on the remote.

However, if you change the function or source on the system, then only the system changes.

It sounds like you have changed the function on the system to DVD, but the remote is still set to TV. When in TV mode the remote will send Philips TV codes.

Press the DVD or DISC button on the remote.

Go into your closed caption settings and most likely you have accidently activated one of the TEXT modes. Turn that off and your TV should be back to normal.
