Make the flash disk in the device bootable using MBRTool (This is necessary if you installed GRUB on the disk. The MBR needs to be overwritten)
From the Win CE installation folder, from drive:\<path to wince installation>\PLATFORM\CEPC\SRC\BOOTLOADER\DOS\BOOTDISKcopy all files and paste it to the flash disk in the device (These files always comes with Win CE installation)
Put your build of Win CE - EBOOT.BIN in the flash disk on the device (This will be your custom Win CE image)
Remove the USB drive, and boot the device. Your new build of Win CE should boot up.
that is correct.. IF you are using windows 2000 the files are NOT the same as the files under XP.. Your best bet is to EITHER install the complete XP or find the win2k installation disk,, even an upgrasde disk for win 200 can be found probably around 100.00. IF the system isn't booting from your XP disk IS Your disk an ORIGINAL or a copy of the original?.. If for example your CD rom is drive E then see if you can find a win XP emergency boot disk and access the CDROM goto e:\windows\i386 then run the setup program, many cases this will overwrite your existing OS.. but do so at your OWN RISK I will not be accountable if you lose any of your important files.. some win98 emergency boot disks can access the cdrom but you may have to make certain additions to the autoexec.bat and/or config.sys files. be careful when using DOS because you can completely delete EVERYTHING on the HDD if you use the right command(s). As A DOS BABY I have performed many lazarus miracles but I have been using dos since the early 70's
in bios setup usually under security you can remove user passwords.
you get into safemode for 2000 and in control panel and remove it form users administrator account
If your not interested in to os systems then you can format
have or can you get a win 95/98 disk...
these disks utilize the dos enviroment...
when you boot with them you can easily get in the dos platform (c://prompt)
once there type in fdisk and follow instructions.
you can also do this from usb ..you need to make usb bootable first.
you may be able to use xp disk and choose repair which will take you to the dos prompt.
you may be able to format hd with vista disk and before it start to install files interrupt it(remove disk)
not advisable though.
if you want program to create bootable usb let me know.
I'll need youre email address to send via attachment.
if you are installing a dos based system thn dos formatting is very good
if you are going to use xp then make boot option in setup as bootable from cd rom put a win xp setup cd in the cdrom drive it will boot up saying press any key to continue , and follow the scren instructions the whole process is that simple a hd can be formatted till bad sectors are not shown up upto 8 %. more thna 8& bad sectors cannot load windows, however dos can still be loaded and so also win me so it doesnot affect the hd what affects is the jerks and voltage supply variations on the har d disk and some bad virus infections and the temperature the hd has ... always leep hd at a tem p lower than 37 degres c use a fan to achieve this a 12 volt small fan mounted on the hd .
Probably is some incompatibly of the anti virus software, you can try to uninstall the anti-virus software, if you can uninstall it, try to delete the folder where the anti virus is and restart the machine, you can do that using a dos boot disk or any OS that is in a Live CD, like Bart PE, Ubuntu and etc, the easiest way is to use the Win 98 boot disk, but you have to know some DOS commands. I you can't do that try to format and reinstall it, but use another anti virus i recommend NOD 32 from eset it's light and work's fine.
